Set: 1993 Studio (Rate)

Card: #59 Greg Swindell

“ I bet he plays for Houston ” -Young Kilo

“ I love this set because of the backgrounds being closeups of uniform elements. Too bad for me it was quite difficult for me to find a pack of Studio in 1993. ” -duaned99

“ I always liked this set. The shiny facsimile auto's and the stitched team logo was a nice touch. ” -suomibear8

“ I loved these sets by Studio. Stats freaks wouldn't like the lack of stats, but it's nice to get a glimpse into the player. ” -Mike67

“ I like the uni-centric design to this card. The 'Stros caps were and today are some of my favorites. ” -jlaz10

“ I hope it's the scans fault you can't see the autograph, otherwise white on white, BRILLIANT!!! ” -SaveDaKid

“ I actually enjoyed the earlier Studio sets because they were a break from the normal card sets of the early to mid 90s... ” -lyfestory

Set: 2005 Inkworks Serenity (Rate)

Card: #54 Attack of the Reavers

“ Boy. You never appreciate good makeup till you see examples of poor makeup ” -SSG Temple

“ Loved this movie !!!! Loved this series !!! This looks like it would have been a nice card set too. ” -uncaian

“ From a plot standpoint, I didn't understand how the Reavers got to be such an organized threat as they seemed to be mindless barbarians by all accounts. And they were physically destroying themselves. Just play keep away and in a few years they'd have all died of self-inflicted decay. ” -DaClyde

“ Eww, that's one of the most disgusting cards I've seen on here. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Yikes, that's an ugly card. If you were going to do this scene, why not put the Kaylee picture on the front instead of the back? No one wants to be innocently flipping through their Firefly cards in the middle of the night and run across /that/. ” -Luckynumber78

“ I'm scared ” -jlaz10

“ The face not even a mother could love... ” -lyfestory

“ Now that's disturbing. ” -koloth42

Set: 1996 Stadium Club (Rate)

Card: #388 Steve Ontiveros

“ Too many colors on the back of the card... but a great shot of the grip for a split finger fastball on the front. ” -ThemightyOx

“ Big picture. Minimal information on the front. The TSC Skills Matrix is a little dumb. I love how he is topped out on Savy and barely average in Velocity and SO Pitch. Great looking front, but the back is way to busy. ” -yokonashiwa

“ Front - B (although I can tell from the photo and knowing the player, I want to see position listed on the front). Back - F (graph is useless, stats are weak, and the write up can barely be read over a picture). ” -vrooomed

“ I like a lot of Stadium Club front designs but never enjoyed the back...eeewww ” -SaveDaKid

“ Front of this card is cool. Back of the card is a little garish. The green and yellow "works" for me too. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ One of the great ones in the shining history of the mid-to-late 90's Oakland A's. If it weren't for you, Steve, and Geronimo Berroa, the A's would have been way worse than they already were. ” -ray fosse's ghost

“ Let's see some football ” -SSG Temple

“ the fronts are nice and clean, but the backs are clearly not... ” -lyfestory

“ Is the back on fire? "Skills matrix"? How about readable, useful stats on the back. Oh well, that was 17 years ago, I guess they won't issue a recall and fix this. ” -NJDevils

“ Didn't realize he pitched this long. By the way, cards from Steve Ontiveros (70's OF) need to be separated from Steve Ontiveros (P). ” -volbox

“ I like the pic on the front of the card, clear and colorful. Don't like the back though. The Oakland A's green, always a classic. ” -grim25

Set: 2002 Bowman (Rate)

Card: #193 Derrick Lewis

“ Before changing his name to Dwayne Wade, Derrick Lewis tried a career in baseball, but after some embarrassing outings a name & sport change was due for Derrick to hide from his past & start a new... ” -SaveDaKid

“ These were the years when Bowman had too much going on and looked like a mid-'90s mess, all the way into the mid-'00s. Boooring. ” -Luckynumber78

“ An interesting thing about the Braves uniforms is that up until 2005, their player names were vertically arched, not radially, as is common. ” -jlaz10

“ I've seen this design come up as Card of the Day before, and I like it. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Looks like something an ancient Egyptian slave carved several millennia ago. ” -revnorb

“ If I remember right, there's some great RCs and stars in this set. Don't believe this guy is one of them.. ” -Hollywood42

Set: 2010 Topps - Turkey Red (Rate)

Card: #TR93 Ian Desmond

“ Really cool card and design for a player who never really lived up to expectations. ” -Luckynumber78

“ FORE!!!! ” -SSG Temple

“ The current Nationals unis are so much better than their originals. Remember, addition by subtraction is better than addition by addition. ” -jlaz10

“ My first thought when I saw this card was "What is wrong with this card?" I am not a fan of painted cards unless it is Donruss Diamond Kings. I didn't like it at first, but it has grown on me. Bet it looks better in person. ” -yokonashiwa

“ I didn't know Andrew Wyeth worked for Topps... ” -Norb Rozek

Set: 1991 Upper Deck (Rate)

Card: #180 Mervyn Fernandez

“ I miss you L.A. Raiders. ” -ray fosse's ghost

“ This is a really cool action shot, but I don't think he's gonna make that catch. I like umpire's expression, though. ” -Luckynumber78

“ Had some great years in the CFL with B.C. Lions. ” -dobbie

“ Ugh, screenprint! ” -jlaz10

“ I like the football shaped hologram. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Swervin Mervyn Fernandez. Another attempt by Al Davis to throw the deep ball that never panned out. ” -whoisrob

Set: 1960 Bazooka (Rate)

Card: #4 Hank Aaron

“ Is this an actual card, or a wax paper gum wrapper? I see it does say cards on the bottom, and the back appears to be cardboard. I don't know enough about them to know. I don't know much about baseball (I think I've actually learned more by reading Card of the Day and random "recently added" cards I click than I have from SportsCenter, actually!) but even I have heard of Hank Aaron. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ WHATEVER YOU DO, DON'T PUT ANYTHING IN THAT EMPTY WHITE SPACE AT THE BOTTOM!!! ” -Norb Rozek

“ The Braves unis today are similar to these, but will never be as good as their Milwaukee duds. ” -jlaz10

“ One of the "cut the card off the cardboard box" cards. Of course it is Hank Aaron and therefor ultimately cool. I hadn't realized Bazooka gum has been around that long. Cool card. ” -yokonashiwa

“ Maybe a little too simple? I'd still like one. ” -vrooomed

“ The real home run king. ” -deporcoruña

Set: 1992 Fleer (Rate)

Card: #158 Tom Gordon

“ I like the 1992 Fleer, they(Fleer) started back on the road to quality sets. And this is Steven King's favorite player? ” -Jerry Yeager

“ Cool design, but the name, especially the first name, seems a little hard to read. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ I can't be 100% sure! but I think his name is "Gordon". Perhaps a larger font would help. ” -wamk

“ I liked this set and the 93 set. It was nice to see Fleer get away from the retina searing colours. ” -Mike67

“ All I can think about to say is contortionist. ” -Dixxy

“ 1992 Fleer - the year Fler decided to try to keep up with the Jones's in their base set (they already tried the previous year with Ultra). A little too much green for my tastes, but overall a good set. Looks much better in hand than in a scan. Try finding the update set for under $20 these days - heck, try finding it for under $30! ” -vrooomed

“ The Royals whites are some of the best in the bigs. ” -jlaz10

“ Society deteriorated once designers found the "blend" tool in Photoshop. ” -Norb Rozek

“ An underrated set and an underrated reliever. All around good stuff here. ” -Luckynumber78

“ I always liked this set. I also was a big fan of Tom Gordon in the Kansas City years. Glad the Royals are getting some love on the card of the day. ” -jupiterhill

Set: 1991 JOGO (Rate)

Card: #164 Robert Mimbs

“ 91 CFL! Yes! ” -ray fosse's ghost

“ Someone in the editing dept really loved the bold and italic options when typing up the paragraph for the back of this card ” -ThemightyOx

“ I was liking this card until I looked at the back. Why, oh why, did they randomly make some words bold and some are italicized? Looks horrendous. And unreadable. I keep trying to stress those words as i read it. Doesn't work. However, the action photo is nice. ” -vrooomed

“ Not everyday you see a CFL card. ” -jlaz10

“ Yay Argos! Rip him apart! ” -DanD

“ I've never seen a team name set in 12 point Times New Roman (or local equivalent) before. I kinda hope to never see it again. The tiny name in a faux-script font at the bottom is similarly horrible. I did always like that CFL logo, however. Too bad it's not bigger. ” -revnorb

Set: 2006 Bowman Heritage (Rate)

Card: #143 Victor Martinez

“ After all those 1990s cards, where it looked like graphic designed barfed colors everywhere, the 2000s bring back simplicity. Just goes to show, they knew what they were doing back in the early days of bubble gum card design! ” -vrooomed

“ I don't know if the old Bowman set didn't have any stats on the back, but in today's game, no stats on the back of a baseball card is a cardinal sin in my book... ” -lyfestory

“ This is a nice-looking card. I'm all in favour of a retro look that actually looks vintage. The back completes the look nicely. ” -Luckynumber78

“ The current Indians uniforms are so much better than these. It's funny because the only difference is there's no sleeve braid or plaquet piping; just a simple stripe on the sleeve ends and neck. ” -jlaz10
