Set: 1995 Upper Deck (Rate)

Card: #89 Darryl Strawberry

“ Great shot by Darryl ” -dah15

“ The foil name on the photo background is hard to read, even in person. Otherwise, not a bad design. ” -vrooomed

“ check out that grin..you know what he just got done doing.. ” -tonym

“ This was Upper Deck when it was on its way to being like the rest by making 100s of sub sets and parallels. no thanks UD. ” -addysdaddy

“ Bad photo choice. You can't read that name at all. ” -wax_house

“ An Upper Deck set I don't like. Also Darryl Strawberry looks weird in any uniform that isn't Mets. ” -captkirk42

“ He could have been one of the best if drugs didn't get in the way. ” -carthage44

Set: 1996-97 Pinnacle - Rink Collection (Rate)

Card: #3 Kevin Hatcher

“ Nice uncluttered front. Not a bad back either. ” -NJdevils

“ Even though these were pretty easy to discern from the base card, they put Rink Collection on the reverse - a nice touch - something I wish all companies would do for parallel sets. I thought the dufex effects looked good on hockey cards but not the other sports (gives the appearance of ice). ” -vrooomed

“ This would be a nice card if it wasn't for the etched foil. Never been a fan of any foil, refractor, chrome, etc. cards. I believe Kevin had his best years with the Caps and I'll always think of him in their uniform. ” -C2Cigars

“ Pinnacle had some nice sets this one I don't like the gold leaf on the bottom. ” -captkirk42

“ Great defenceman. Not a big fan of this set though. ” -uncaian

“ I bet the Blackhawks won the game. GO HAWKS!!! ” -carthage44

Set: 2003 Donruss Elite (Rate)

Card: #17 Carlos Lee

“ Foiled again. Same photo on the back. The back, I actually like. The front, well, maybe it's different in person. ” -vrooomed

“ A good player with the White Sox. Wish he was around longer with the team. ” -carthage44

“ I usually like the early Elite sets that had the official licensing. I don't like this one much, the back is OK but the front is sort of bland. ” -captkirk42

“ It would've looked a lot better if the background on the front of the card wasn't removed. ” -domentho

“ I don't like this design. The card kinda looks like it was put together from scraps. ” -biggiofn7

Set: 2014 Finest - Refractor (Rate)

Card: #21 Billy Hamilton

“ Great card and great scan. I love Refractors. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ 60+ years in business and their products just get worse and worse. Maybe if they concentrated on designing one or two products a year instead of over 1,000. ” -C2Cigars

“ Ah, Billy Hamilton. Not to be confused with "Sliding Billy" Hamilton of the late 1800s. ” -NJdevils

“ Topps really needs to rename "Finest". It rarely even is. ” -captkirk42

“ This refractor actually scanned very well. ” -carthage44

“ I WANT this card! It's the "Finest"! ” -domentho

“ That is one shiny card! This scan shows the true colors of a refractor. ” -suomibear8

Set: 1986 ProCards Little Falls Mets (Rate)

Card: #NNO Todd Welborn

“ RIP Todd Welborn. Never made it to the "bigs", but was a nice guy who liked to coach. He died of colon cancer last year at age 50. ” -domentho

“ Looks like a tom selleck mustache. ” -captkirk42

“ Ah 1980s ProCards the Honda Civic of Minor League Baseball cards or something. ” -captkirk42

“ 80's stash alert!!! ” -carthage44

“ No stats, but an ad for a local baseball card shop. ” -vrooomed

Set: 1995-96 Metal (Rate)

Card: #171 Ed O'Bannon

“ Loved the Metal brand. It was only around for 5 seasons, and this was the first. It lasted longer than Ed O'Bannon did in the NBA. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Not a fan of the Metal series. The "metal" look is often difficult to see exactly what is being shown. When I first saw these ages ago I thought they were like those limited edition cards that were actually made of metal (tin plating or whatever) but they are not just cardboard with some tacky looking background to make it look like some kind of metal. ” -captkirk42

“ Thanks to this guy, there are no more college video games. I guess when you can't play basketball and you never got an education, you might as well sue someone so you don't have to work for a living. ” -carthage44

“ NJ Nets: Going,going, went. ” -NJDevils

Set: 1981 Fleer (Rate)

Card: #463 Lou Whitaker

“ Nicely designed card. I've always been a Fleer fan. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Sweet Lou! One half of one of the most successful 2B-SS combinations of all time. Part of the 1984 World Champion Detroit Tigers, from one of the sets that began a flood of new card makers in the 80's. Bless You Boys! ” -Kaline6

“ Lots of errors on this set, but overall it's not a horrible set to have, ” -addysdaddy

“ Hey, it's Sweet Lou! Always liked 81 Fleer. ” -wax_house

“ Cool The return of Fleer to the baseball card game. It is a true Fleer and not one of these retro Heritage/Archives things right? Like the design but early on it was confusing with the 1982 and 83 Donruss sets. ” -captkirk42

“ This is one of my favorite sets. I love the design, both front and back. It's also the set that got me my first job (card shop - collating sets). If you're a baseball set collector, this set should be in your collection - it's affordable and loaded with great players. ” -vrooomed

“ 1981, 18 years after Topps was first sued, their monopoly was finally busted. Having not produced player's cards since 1963, Fleer's comeback was lackluster at best. These boring desgins would continue for the next 5 years. ------ I love players who spend their entire career with one team. "Sweet Lou" and Alan Trammell were one of the best "double play" combos. ” -C2Cigars

“ I got a bunch of these cards for cheap and found some real gems in them. Some cool error cards too. ” -carthage44

Set: 1991 Pacific (Rate)

Card: #515 Jeff Bostic

“ So nice to see cards of Offensive Linemen, and that is what I miss from Pacific and the days of super large sets like this. Bostic was one of the original Hogs. ” -armac

“ Front is fine, but that back design may be the worst I've ever seen. You know it's bad when I don't like it! ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Always liked this set. Wish it didnt come out in the 90s glut so it could have carried some value. Good stock, solid pics, bold team based colors and backs filled with stats and facts. Not sure why teams put team logos on back and not the front though... puzzles me ” -SFC Temple

“ Jeff is so hot. He and brother Joe were the first brothers in Clemson finally made a deal alongside Dwight Clark back in the 70s. ” -dah15

“ These cards were not that appealing at all. Then again, lots of cards in the early 90's were not appealing. ” -addysdaddy

“ A 260 pound offensive lineman. Wow, the times have changed. ” -carthage44

“ Loved Pacific when it first came out. Over the years I have flip flopped on liking this set. Nice to see the Skins represented on Random Card Day! ” -captkirk42

“ Ahhh, 1991 & The Redskins, not a good combination for my Lions. They beat us 45-0 to start the season, and 41-10 to oust us from the playoffs. Oh, the card...it's ok. Prefer centered pictures, as to the offset ones. ” -Kaline6

Set: 1998 Press Pass - Pick Offs Blue (Rate)

Card: #22 Leonard Little

“ Something tells me #1 is going to be hurting pretty bad soon... ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Should still be in jail for killing a woman while drunk. Instead, he only got 90 days. ” -volbox

“ Nice! Collegiate level leap frog! ” -koloth42

“ Somehow his DUI killing of another driver while in his Lincoln Navigator slipped through the pages ” -addysdaddy

“ Ugh Press Pass. My biggest problem with Press pack is I'm not into College Uniforms for Pro players, except sometimes for throwbacks after they have made a name for themselves in the Pros. Even then it is usually only for the players I actively collect, not all players and definitely not for unknowns. ” -captkirk42

“ I am very disappointed that Press Pass discontinued their products. ” -carthage44

Set: 1993 Action Packed Monday Night Football (Rate)

Card: #25 Darryl Talley

“ I love Action Packed, always have, always will, but pink? Seems like an odd choice. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Weirdos ” -dah15

“ Interesting set but no surprise something like this exists since it was from the early 90s. ” -koloth42

“ Buffalo 35- Oilers 7. yeah I am pretty sure this was a sleeper. fast forward 7 years and if you were sleeping during the last :16 seconds of the game, you missed the most disgusted expression on Doug Flutie's face ever. ” -addysdaddy

“ Action Packed. When I first got the Redskins team set their first year I thought the cards were OK to pretty cool. Skip ahead a few years/decades and now this raised relief card set is on my list of "Don't Like"s. Also some of the sets were so similar looking from year to year it is sometimes hard to know which year you have. ” -captkirk42

“ Action Packed has some pretty cool designs but this set was weak. ” -carthage44
