Year: 2014

Set: Topps Heritage (Rate)

Card: #437 Hanley Ramirez

“ A good retro design as they stayed with the classic look and did not over do it. ” -carthage44

“ The sideburns, gut and card design scream '70s to me. The forearm tattoo, not so much. Also, it looks like the bat knob is blacked out. Rickface Ramirez? ” -Id8jlb8666

“ Ahh, 1965 Topps. Wait, what? Oh, you mean this is NOT 1965? Topps reused a design? No, not Topps. They are always so creative and original. And why is this a "b" card? Intentional variation? Who would do that? ” -vrooomed

“ Heritage = Lame ” -NJDevils

“ I love Topps Heritage. The designs would only look better if they used only portrait shots and period-appropriate uniforms. ” -jlaz10

I loved this design when I got them as a kid and love them still today. We got an autographed Maury Wills card in very first pack and I said 'wow, i have this card." son said, "no way, this is new." rooted around and found the original MWills card.

Can't believe anyone would be against Topps using it's best vintage designs to bring us modern players. 1965 one of the most beautiful sets ever. 2014 one of the most beautiful sets ever.

I f some of you have them and don't want them, thrown 'em in the mail addressed to me.

I'm not anxiously awaiting next year's set though. '66 one of the worst designs as far as I'm concerned.

I love all throwbacks, but the card stock is what kills the nostalgia for me. I wish they got less technical when making the cards to really give it that old school feel. The only problem is, now every other set is being re-done way too often.

I would like to see a baseball Heritage set in a football design, or something along those lines. I know the original Archives basketball used baseball designs that were year-appropriate to the rookie years of the players.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff.  Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

They've done some throwbacks. Not as cool as Heritage, but they did Magic Photos (Hocus Focus), which from what I saw wasn't too purty. They did some Bowman minis a few years back as inserts which had me wanting to collect foosball for the first time since about 1991. As a matter of fact, thanks for reminding me.

I have the Cobb RC, all I need are the rest.

I'd say they Topps has some Heritage Football on the slate. With the beautiful early Bowman and Topps designs, how could they not?
