“ Baseball sure does have a lot of unknown All Star players. I am certain I might remember this guy if I was a baseball fan in the 90s who liked the A's and was a fan of third basemen. LOL! ” -yokonashiwa

“ When Carney Lansford is an All-Star, you know it's the late 80's early 90's. ” -carthage44

“ That is really plain for a Topps card. They usually do better. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Topps' Glossy All-Stars were quite pointless. Stick to regular set inserts, with stats. ” -jlaz10

“ I have these. This set heads my all-time boring list. ” -NJDevils

“ What does it say on my bat??? ” -Joshua825

“ Who liked these cards? - Me! ” -vrooomed

“ I always liked these sets, though I never actually sent off for any for some reason. Always managed a few from the plastic cube repacks at retailers though. ” -switzr1

“ Carney Lansford, one of the best Oakland Athletics 3rd baseman ever. ” -grim25

And I can come up with at LEAST a dozen pitchers that were HOF caliber during those years. Not to mention other great 3B's like Matt Williams, Gary Gaetti, Bobby Bonilla, Robin Ventura, etc.

Also, I don't think it's fair to compare players from different eras. It's like saying those who had a good job back in the 60's didn't make good money compared to today. It's a different game today then it was 30yrs ago.

Keep pretending you know something about baseball pal. Get off your horse. Maybe read a book - you might learn a little about the sport. Not sure what "stick to hockey" means. I didn't realize I wasn't able to like more than 1 sport. Maybe you should stick to your college football and basketball cards.

Carney Lansford was a very good contact hitter, he had over 2,000 hits with a solid glove at third.  He did what he had to do, good career overall.

Settle down suomibear. It was a joke. Talk to me when you have played multiple sports at a high level and not just watching games on a couch and calling yourself an "expert".

One of the things Ive enjoyed about this site since Ive been a member is that there has never been a sign of drama on the forum in regards to interactions between members. I would hate to see someone find this site and read through the last bit of this topic and wonder if this is normal for the site. Some people enjoy drama.. but in my time on the internet I find that it tends to make people turn away more than it draws.

Please, tell me what it is you know about me and sports I've played? Everyone on this forum has apparently disagreed with your statement, yet you continue on. Let's just end this before it gets much more personal. I like this site, so I'd rather not argue my way into not being able to use it.
