Their are worse people in the HOF, for example Ty Cobb who was a renouned bigot. Bonds, Mcguire and Sosa brought interest back to baseball when they really needed it. The league new about the steroids and turned a blind eye cuse it sold tickets now they are throwing everyone of these guys under the bus.

You said it, Pdizzle, steroids.   Used to gain an unfair advantage.    Don't forget, Sosa even corked his bat.   Aaron did not need steroids.   He hit his HRs the old fashioned way, though natural ability.      Selig is no better for ignoring this and he should never get any type of award.

My first Card of the Day, and it's from my all time favorite player. I don't have any delusions of Barry Bonds being all natural, but I also feel like it's called the "Steroids Era" and not "the period where 3 or 4 guys took steroids" for a reason. Many players took steroids, nobody did what Barry Bonds did (power, average, speed, defense (minus arm strength).

Comparing a man's personal faults with cheating is like apples and oranges. Cobb was definitely a racist, but he played the game with a competitiveness and hard-nosed style that it near impossible to duplicate. Comparing dead ball era guys with steroid era guys isn't really fair, but Cobb played the game fairly.....rough, but fair.
