Year: 1993

Set: Topps - Black Gold (Rate)

Card: #27 Henry Jones

“ These are neat cards. One of the first sets to have holofoil, if not THE first, in all the sports Topps did that year. Right around the same time they introduced regular foil, which I know most hate...I like it as an accent like a player or team name but not when the whole card is. If I followed football I'd be a Bills supporter, for (hopefully!) obvious reasons :) ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Just make it Gold none of this Black Gold stuff. ” -carthage44

“ I really don't like the "gold" anything parallels from the 1990s. 90% of the time they only made the "gold" title letters in gold, or the player's name in gold to differentiate the "gold" version from the regular base version. This appears to be the same sort of thing, with the exception of the "gold" border added, or enhanced from whatever the base version was (excuse me while I checkout the "base" version) ...UGH these weren't even ugly parallels they were an ugly insert set. Double UGH. "Topps Ya Killin' Me" ” -captkirk42

“ The top and bottom borders look ugly, everything else otherwise looks pretty nice. ” -TradingCards964

“ The picture shows intensity and there are nice touches particularly the step over the name banner. But the lack of stats in the back will displease some. ” -Sportzcommish

“ Great little series for Topps b/w 1993-1994. ” -RoundtheDiamond87

“ This is a weak design. Too dark. ” -cjjt

“ All right, a Buffalo Bill! Henry was a heckuva player for a lot of years in WNY. Nice card here. Always liked Topps Black Gold. ” -mkaz80

Unbelievable that I missed a Buffalo Bill!  Hey-ay-ay-ay!!!   Let's go BUFFALO!!!!!!!!!!!  Henry Jones was great player for a while with the Bills.  Not a bad card, not the best, but anything with a Bill is awesome!
