This is Roger Staubach's rookie card. Although he had been in the league for two years prior, it took him getting the starting job midway through the season, then leading the Cowboys to 10-straight victories, including the playoffs and the championship, plus getting named Super Bowl MVP to get noticed.

Staubach had actually graduated from the Naval Academy by 1965, but had to complete his military commitment prior to joining the NFL. He kept in shape by playing with the semi-pro Pensacola Goshawks.
