New to this database, but have started entering my Iowa collection and am excited to get it in one centralized place. I collect all cards of former Hawks: baseball, football, basketball, wrestling, oddball, new/old. I have a rather large collection that I would be willing to trade for Hawk cards. A majority of my collection is baseball and football 1983 to present but do have some older cards. Was wondering how many collectors specialize in college collections as it seems that I have not run across many? Thanks for having me and looking forward to some great conversations with like-minded people.

Welcome to the Database! This is a truly great site with a wealth of info. Glad that you're here.
Trading on this site can be a lot of fun. In order to get the most out of the experience, you should compile a Sell/Trade list. For each card that you want to trade, click "Add Another to Sell/Trade". That will add the card to your sell/trade list. If you have multiples of the same card, click "Add Multiple", which will bring you to another screen where you can add them. Once you start adding cards to your Sell/Trade list, other collectors can automatically match cards from their wantlists to your sell/trade list and vice versa. It makes trading less time-consuming.
So take a look around the site and enjoy all the great features that it offers. If you have any questions, there are many collectors here who are very knowledgable. Mostly, have fun!

Baseball Reference has a list here. I recognize a few names on the list, but no one who jumps out besides Cap Anson.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

Welcome...just an FYI, Panini has a Iowa Hawkeye set available this year...I uploaded the checklist and images a few weeks ago. Personally, I'm a little disappointed with their collegiate sets...with only 24 cards, why do you need 2 for CJ Beathard? Add someone like Chuck Long or Cap Anson. The Iowa set is actually the worst of the 10 or so sets I've seen this year. Not only does Panini have 2 CJ Beathard cards in a 24 card set, they actually use what looks like the same picture on the card fronts.

The set is mostly football with a handful of basketball players. Probably still available from Panini: 24 player cards for $20.

Husker fan here. Yes you really do not see many college collectors. If they are the limit their collection to only certain cards. (Auto GU brands) I limit my collection to football only. but do have a few other Husker cards
I have imputed around 7300 cards from my PC still have some but need the sets add. There are good people here and have been help out a lot.

Football is the main sport I collect as not many Hawks make it in basketball or baseball. I started out in the early 80's collecting baseball cards and it has morphed into an emphasis on football, with the Hawks being a priority. I have a ton of football cards though as it is about the only sport I still buy boxes for. Once I get my collection in an order I will be posting some cards I am willing to part with, but if you have some Husker cards on a wish list let me know as I have most of my collection alphabetized.

One of my favorite coaches is Hayden Fry. He made a pile of money for me by destroying the heavily favored Longhorns in the 1984 Freedom Bowl.
