Year: 1998-99

Set: UD Choice Preview (Rate)

Card: #18 Toni Kukoc

“ Ok, this is a scan that I submitted. Not a hardcore basketball collector, but I have a few cards. I like this set, it has some great action shots and the cards are simple and to the point. Jerry ” -sltyeager

“ Kukoc led the Bulls in scoring the year after Michael Jordan retired for the second time and Scottie Pippen left as a free agent. (1998-99 was that year). However, the Bulls fared poorly, and ended up getting the #1 draft pick in 1999, which they used to draft my all-time favorite player. Kukoc would leave the Bulls for the 76ers following 1998-99, and also played for the Bucks. One of the first Croatian players in the NBA. UD Choice replaced Collector's Choice, and like many sets in the first Lockout season, series 2 was cancelled. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Kukoc is so good he can play 1 on 4. ” -koloth42

“ Those Bucks unis tho. ” -jlaz10

“ This was one of the first of the few basketball cards I ever owned. A pretty nice action shot, looks like a pretty short guy is trying to block him. haha. ” -Howintensive

I made an error in my comment. He did not leave after 1998-99, he was traded to the 76ers during the 1999-00 season. He also played for the Hawks, breifly. Which I should have remembered, as I had just scanned his 2002-03 Upper Deck series 1 card the day before, which pictures him in his Hawks jersey.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.

Also, to Howintensive: That's actually just a trick of perspective and distance. Ervin Johnson, #40 on the Bucks, is actually 7 feet tall- several inches more than Kukoc is. But he's farther away from the photographer, and thus appears smaller.
