Year: 2009

Set: Topps (Rate)

Card: #30 Ken Griffey Jr.

“ As a White Sox fan, it was great having Griffey, a future Hall of Famer and a great person on the team even for a short period of time. ” -carthage44

" Ooooh!!!!!ooooh!!!! Mr. Guilen sir can I bat clean up. " -PALE HOSER FAN SINCE

“ It's like seeing Willie Mays as a Met. It should of never happened ” -Young Kilo

“ I really like Griffey. I really like the White Sox logo. I really do not like the White Sox logo on Griffey. Too bad he didn't spend his whole career in Seattle. ” -duaned99

“ Great time to break out this story - Flashback to 1988. Jr is playing for the Vermont Mariners (AA, Eastern League) and they are playing in Reading, PA. My best friend goes up to Jr and says, "I'll buy you a hot dog and a Pepsi if you sign 2 baseballs for me." Jr replies, "We can't have food in the dugout, so I can't have a hot dog, but make it 2 Pepsi's, and you have a deal." SO, off to the concession stand we go to retrieve two Pepsi's, and he hands them into the dugout. About 20 seconds later, out pops 2 baseballs, signed by Jr. He still has one of them. I was not as forward thinking then - I didn't get one. ” -vrooomed

I think people who like the White Sox are just brain washed. Who could blame them though? I mean the team logo does contain the  word (Sex) after all. The Chicago White Sex. Yeah, yeah. I know some don't see it, but there's no other reason for the letters to be positioned as they are.

One of the ugliest Topps designs of all time. Don't worry though, from what I've seen of the 2015 set, it's going to make this one look nice.

Definitely one of my all time favorite players. If only he didn't get bit by the injury bug so often.

HowlingFury, White Sox fans being brainwashed? Sounds like you may have had a lobotomy, LOL.

You must be a White Sox fan, because I was pointing out the obvious.  A personal insult towards someone because they made a generalization on the internet, how new.

I had completely blanked out the fact that Junior was on the White Sox's team.  Guess I just didn't pay that much attention to him until he came back to Seattle.  Glad he retired in Seattle, but it wouldn't have affected his HOF team since he can choose which team to go under (unlike the NFL who inducts you under the last team you signed a contract with hence the One Day Retirement Contracts).  Good looking card even if the uniform just doesn't look right on the player.
