After 15 years of ho-hum designs, Topps came up with this winner, front and back. Love the readable numbers

I remember seeing Juan in AA when i was living in CT.  he was supposed to be the next Mantle after John Olerud turned out to not be the next Mantle, ah well, maybe there never will be a next Mantle.

What is the list of feats a player would have to accomplish in order to be considered the next Mantle?

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff.  Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I actually mispoke, i was thinking of Ruben Rivera not Juan Rivera.  I think Ruben ended up getting tossed from the Yankees for causing a fuss, but it was many years ago.

Wasn't Ruben Rivera the one who stole stuff out of Jeter's locker to sell to a memorabilia dealer?
