“ Sorry, I can't think of anything nice to say about this card. ” -C2Cigars

“ Another set where the numbering in the database doesn't match the card. Also, this must be a foil card ... maybe in person it looks better. ” -vrooomed

“ Nice card. It is a nice card for an on-card auto. "Passing the Torch" but only showing one player? ” -captkirk42

“ I bet this looks a lot better in person. I see some holofoil effects that don't really show in scans well. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Who is he passing the torch too? ” -carthage44

“ Tom Terrific is first and foremost a Met, not a Red. ” -jlaz10

I agree, pretty bleah card.  Not a fan of B&W being used for players who played predominatly in an age where B&W is used more as an effect.  Though I suppose it looks better with the foli action going on.

To say nothing about the whole "Passing The Torch" title on the card being a headscratcher.  Maybe if Mario Soto was sharing the card?

I thought the set name didn't fit, like many of you said. So I looked at the checklist. It's a 45 card set. 15 modern players SN1000, 15 retired, SN1000, and 15 double sided, pairing up one of each, SN500. But weird combos like George Brett/Hank Blalock. And Seaver is paired with Mark Prior, so using Tom as a Red bore no significance.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff.  Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Yes, I can  picture Seaver only in a Mets uniform.   Yet his only no-hitter came as a Red.

I think of him as a Met too, but that might be because I am a Met's fan.

I have a football Passing the Torch with Paul Warfield and Braylon Edwards. I liked the concept of flipping the card over.
