He's either adjusting the angle of the spoiler (NASCAR regulates that to a high degree.) or closing the trunk. It's clearly not closed tightly in the image. Toss up as to which!

I almost didn't log on today. I would have been bummed if I missed seeing Ted on a card of the day!

Personally, I've always thought it looked like he was reading someting that was laying on the trunk lid, but knowing Ted he probably was working on the car. Based on how he's dressed, I'm thinking that this picture wasn't even taken at the track. It's certainly not race day.
