Year: 2001

Set: Topps American Pie (Rate)

Card: #78 Sam McDowell

“ Never heard of this set! Feel during a period I was on a "sabbatical" from collecting! ” -bkklaos

“ How did I miss this set? Ah 2001 during my hiatus away from new cards. I thought I had caught up to at least seeing all the stuff I had missed before. How did I miss this one again? Might need to look into getting this set. ” -captkirk42

“ Would probably be in the Hall had he played on a team better than Cleveland (i.e. he'd have more of those nefarious "wins") for the majority of his great career. ” -wax_house

“ Nice looking card of an often-overlooked pitcher. Think I'll have to find me some of these cards... ” -dilemma19

“ OK, I have never heard of this set. Looking at his face first I thought it said "Angry Pie". I like it...wonder what Royals are available. ” -RoyalChief

“ The sleeveless uniform top is probably my favorite design. I don't like the card design. The "heady" border is the worst part. And I really find it aggravating when mixed sets are listed as Baseball. ” -C2Cigars

“ These American Pie cards were a HUGE bust. ” -carthage44

Ah "Sudden Sam" McDowell.   Didn't see this when it came up.   A real fireballer.
