Year: 1993

Set: Score (Rate)

Card: #402 Jeff Conine

“ Nicely done card. Has everything you could want. A good photo, full stats and a write-up. I like the fact that the photo did not have his hands or feet cut off and that there's nothing altered like a superimposed team logo. ” -Billy Kingsley

“ Conine was the man! ” -carthage44

“ Excellent card back write-up, as usual for a Score card. Front photo is okay, but I wouldn't quite call it an action shot. A few elements are too small for my liking, notably position and card number. Conine was a solid player for several years, and "Barbarian" was a fun nickname. ” -dilemma19

“ Nice card. Good design. Go Royals! ” -RoyalChief

“ Eeee is that a mouse !!! ” -uncaian

“ Nice 1990s Score Card. Good simple design has everything on front I like, except needs team logo (which is on the back) would prefer the team name to be horizontal not vertical (eek its that way front AND back) ” -captkirk42

“ I like the simplicity of the front but don't care for vertical printing. I'd rather have a small team logo on the front. The back is nice with the exception of the vertical printing. ” -C2Cigars

“ So harmonic, so clean. I really like beginning of '90s decade – a total opposite for it's ending. Really love the rich info on the back as well as stats. I don't know anything about baseball, but thanks to cards like this I can learn something about its players. For me it is the greatest value of base sets. ” -Thomas_Kava

“ "Dang it, Drabowsky tied my shoelaces together again!" ” -Lea DeFoote

“ I know I am not in the majority here, but I really liked what Score did in their first few sets. This set has some drawbacks, but all in all, they provided a card that the average collector could afford and would like. Nice large photo on the front, decent sized (& different) photo on the back. Full stats. Team name, position, player name on front. Team logo on the back. And where space allowed, a healthy write up. ” -vrooomed

“ Never have cared all that much for Score base cards. Strange pic with Conine hovering though. ” -Doc Floyd

The backs of Score cards were some of the worst.  Right up there with Stadium Club.

I generally was not at all fond of Score cards but this set is probably the best in my eyes. A nice set size as well after the huge sets of 1991 and 1992.

Always liked Conine.
