Year: 1973

Set: O-Pee-Chee (Rate)

Card: #176 Chuck Taylor

“ Almost Topps. ” -RoundtheDiamond87

“ Photo is a bit boring, but still like the design, and OPC is almost always a winner in my book. ” -Doc Floyd

“ Not the strongest design of the 1970's, but at least the white borders beat the challenge of keeping good edges like on the 1971s and 1975s. Of course they offset some of that with the black backs. Where is he standing? Looks like a skyscraper behind him. ” -tbshaw

“ You can't beat a classic! ” -carthage44

“ I really miss those comic drawings next to the interesting fact about players on the back. Thanks to OpeeChee you now all know how to say Tennessee National Guard in French. ” -rmpaq5

“ Looks like a decent reliever, but he bounced around a bit in 72. I wonder what team's hat Mr. Taylor was actually wearing when photographed. Did he create those incredibly uncomfortable canvas shoes before or after his baseball career ;) ” -dilemma19

“ Wow, look at that authentic, game-worn hat. ” -wax_house

“ Like complete minor on back ” -dobbie

“ Even though this is over 40 years and I like older cards, this one is pretty horrid. No logo. Colors on reverse, to quote Fred Sanford (Redd Foxx), "make me burp" ” -NJDevils

“ Another cool vintage card for the random card of the Day. Oooooh its an OPC also. Typical Topps airbrushing job probably a late 60s photo of him with no hat the hat doesn't look like it is fitting correctly on this card. I've got a card or two of Mr. Taylor. I also like the name game connection for Converse All-Star "Chucks". OK so he has nothing to do with those shoes but I like the same name connection. ” -captkirk42

“ Quite an extensive minor league career. Cool card. I like the design and the cartoon on the back.. ” -Mitch

“ I love older cards. Never really collected the O Pee Chee over Topps, but man, I love the old designs. ” -muskie027

“ Giving his best "smolder" face. Possible relation to Jay Cutler? ” -Madden95

“ Cool 1973 OPC. This card is one year older than me. ” -switzr1

“ 1973 Topps is my favorite set of all time. O-Pee-Chee, well... Great airbrushing! ” -cjjt
