Random Card of the Day

Year: 1986

Set: Topps (Rate)

Card: #267 Pat McInally

“ Green Black Yellow Blue and Orange! My eyes! ” -rmpaq5

“ The ever popular Punter/Wide Receiver. I like it. ” -switzr1

“ I like the design. Green on the front (my favorite color) and yellow on the back (quickly becoming my second favorite color) makes this a winner in my book. The crooked stats part not so nice, but at least there ARE stats included! ” -Billy Kingsley

“ One of my Top 5 football sets of all-time! LOVE IT!!! ” -carthage44

“ Except for the uniform number, I automatically presumed this guy was a kicker - without even seeing the one-bar facemask. Border is a bit like 85 Donruss baseball, but with a "football field" twist. ” -dilemma19

“ Brown numbers on a tan background always made this a little tough to sort. ” -NJDevils

“ Wow, big dude for a punter. And he went to Harvard. I wonder how much standard punter heckling he was subjected to by his teammates; I bet it was below average. ” -Brimose

“ Ahh yes, Pat McInally, dual threat punter/wide receiver ” -ketchupman36

“ I never cared for the green and white border. The lack of contrast made reading the card number difficult. ” -C2Cigars

“ The first football set I ever collected. I LOVE THIS SET!!! I didn't have a lot, but you always fall in love with the first. I love the position Punter/WR. I don't really remember him, but that is interesting. I loved the backs of these as well!!! ” -muskie027

I think McInally was one of the few guys to get a perfect score on the Wonderlic test.  He was a WR early in his career, but I don't thick he was at this point.  I think that you could line up the cards of this set and if you put the cards in the right order, the white lines would match up.

I wasn't a football card collector as a kid but I remember having a couple from this set. First football cards I had. Kind of cool from a nostalgic standpoint at least. I like it.

The man who came up for the idea for the Starting Lineup figures. Also a good receiver-- caught 15 or so passes a year also.

I'd love to learn more of that Starting Lineup story...I was a huge fan of them when the line was going, and I still pick them up from time to time.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
