Hey fellow traders,

**Correction** Title should be EBAY not PayPal,

I just sold a card on ebay (thanks to the link i put on here in the buy/sell/trade forum) to a fellow member.  i would like to take off the shipping charge that i had on Ebay.  How do you do that?  I know I have received a shipping credit back on one purchase i made on ebay, but i cant find out how to do that?  any thoughts?  

I have reached out to that buyer with the same question, but hoping to get that answered asap.  

Basically listing was X+$3.50 in shipping, i want to take off the shipping charge after the bid ahs completed.

You can do it when/if you create the invoice.  If they already paid, then you can give a partial refund ($3.50) through PayPal.  From ebay you choose "View PayPal Transaction".  At the PayPal transaction choose "Refund this Payment" and choose the amount you want to refund.

Let me know if my memory served me right.

You will still be charged ebay fees on the shipping cost, even if you refund it to the buyer, so you may want to deduct 35 cents or so from what you plan on refunding.  If it was a higher priced item, 35 cents might not matter to ya though.

I do believe that if you just don't collect any money for shipping when you send the invoice, you are not charged the 10% that ebay takes for shipping. They only take 10% of whatever you wind up collecting.

Yea I'm thinking that the buyer had already paid and he was just wanting to refund the amount that had been paid for shipping.  Ebay doesn't credit final value fees on partial refunds, so after a buyer has already paid, you will be charged 10% on the full amount received unless you issue a full refund (but then Paypal still keeps 30 cents regardless)  You are correct that an invoice omitting the shipping cost could be sent before the payment was made and then the fees wouldn't be charged on the shipping price that was originally listed.

when you get to the point that the item sold, you can click the send an invoice.  At that point you can erase the shipping charges or increase them or reduce them.
