Since I got everything posted here, I've actually been working on my Excel charts for my collections that I've been putting off in some cases for years. I've been using the current excel format since 2009 and some of these have been waiting since then. I will finish the multi--sport chart today. Thought I could get it done yesterday but ended up watching too many Olympics for that to happen, but I don't mind. When I started using this format for documenting I was collecting NASCAR only. Now I have charts for NASCAR, NBA, NHL, MLB, NFL, Olympics, other forms of racing (all combined on one chart), multi-sport and Non-sports people. I still have ahead of me NCAA, automotive, DC Comics and Marvel comics, but not sure when I will get to them. My wrists are starting to hurt so I may take a break, since I've been doing this since before Christmas. I'm also copy and pasting the info into four different charts. I lost everything I had done around 2006, information that I had been keeping since I was 14 years old, and I'm still playing catch-up all these years later, and I know some of what I had done is now totally lost, it cannot be recovered. So now I put it in multiple places so that if I lose one file I shouldn't lose everything again.
I do sometimes feel like it's a waste of time, because this is only for me, I don't plan to ever post them anywhere. I really just do it to distract myself from the pain I'm in 24/7. But when I am done I'll be able to search my entire collection with just a couple of clicks. Hopefully it will prevent me from buying duplicates or wondering if I actually have something. I still plan to scan all my cards that were already posted here, which is quite a lot, and will probably not be done this decade. I will only type something into Excel once it's been scanned. This should keep me going for years, but that's fine because I have nothing better to do, lol. When I'm done I'll finally figure out the mystery of whether or not I counted the oversized cards and the 1996-97 Collector's Choice mini cards in my official collection number. I can't remember but my gut feeling is no.
It will be nice, though, to be able to look through my scans and see my collection without having to get it out. That's something I can't even do by myself anymore, I need help to get into the bottom boxes.
VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards.
