Hi. Has anyone any experience with shipping cards in a box? I am sending someone almost 100 cards and with all the extra packing I may have to use a small box instead of a bubblope. Do you think the shipping cost would be the same?
Thanks, Eric

Since shipping is based on weight, not much difference. The cardboard of the box might weigh a little more than the bubble mailer itself. At some point, the Flat Rate box becomes cost effective. But that's more than 100 cards.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

I thought I had mailed a box last year but couldn't recall if the shape had any effect on the price.
Thanks for quick response :)

If you are going to ship around 100 cards, I would suggest probably using a 200 ct box (BCW supplies) so you can pack something around the cards to protect them. Wrap the box in white paper (like printer paper) and write the address on that and then box tape it up. When you are at the post office get a Flate Rate small box or Flat Rate envelope, address it, toss the box in and it should cost you @ $6-6.50ish to ship.
Most USPS offices don't want to ship small boxes like the 100-ct or 200-ct because their labels don't fit on the box so they will tell you to use a larger box or the Flat Rate boxes, which you can do, but the Flat Rate Envelopes work too.

You can ship up to 16 oz using First-Class. Once you go over the 16 oz, you need to use Priority Mail.

Someone shipped me about 150 cards in what I think was a 600 count box. Was really light as you can imagine and surprised he only paid like 4.20 for shipping.

I sent two shipments a couple days ago. One was 5 cards, all in toploaders, that I sent in a bubble-wrap envelope. It cost $3.50 to send. The other was 52 cards that I sent in a small box. It cost $3.75.

Thanks for the help, guys. I was able to get the 2 plastic boxes into a bubble envelope, with extra packaging. It's a very "fluffy" package now.

when I am trading something in the 100-150 card range, I use my scale
I use 100 or 200 ct box and put that inside of a larger bubble envelope
first class package varies by weight, but is usually around 4 bucks (via paypal postage).
first class package goes up to 15 ounces so I acually put the box on scale and weigh when i am in the 100-150 range.
when I get close to 15 ounces I stop pulling so I can ship on this class
16 oz and more ship in flat rate priority bubble envelope for about 6.00-6.50
for that 6.00 I can fit 2 of 300 ct box if i have that much to send.

I have shipped 100 cards only once, a bubble envelope worked for me. I was able to pack the cards in three separate piles and use 'multi-card plastic bag' (forget the proper term). Shipping with Canada Post to an address in Canada, there are extra charges if your package is more than 1"-1.5" wide. Based on width and weight, using the bubble envelope, I was able to ship 100 cards for about $3. iI haven't shipped mroe than that ... yet. I'm guessing I will have to switch to a box once I get to the 150 card range.
