Having been a member here for about 3 months now, I must say that this is one terrific site, with a great trading community! Folks here really seem to want to help each other. I am a very small collector, but I have been a member on many other trade forums for MANY years now and always struggled trying to find folks who truly wanted to trade to help each other out. I found other sites are full of what I call gold diggers... folks who would offer to give me that common card from 1991 Upper Deck for my Bryce Harper rookie card for example! I have made several trades already and almost all have been great! I am also very pleased with how so many filks here are willing to trade here to Canada!
I have been wondering though... how long has this site been active? I can't believe I did not find it earlier... as a collector, this is exactly what I always dreamed of finding! I feel there is still lots here for me to discover. How quickly is it growing in popularity and membership?

You just missed the 10 year anniversary. Most people find the site because they were googling a card in trying to identify it. As we enter more and more cards into this database, it is becoming more often than not the first hit on most searches.

If you go to the Awards section that Admin made up for the 10 year anniversary it will give you a breif rundown of the history here. It doesnt give membership stats I think but it has a screenshot from every year from the "wayback"(?) website. It is an interesting read.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

I have been here for about a month now and entering my cards into the data base seems to be easy and to take a little break from entering cards I scan and enter a few of my own PC cards into the data base. Some are rare to ultra rare and eventually I will be entering the base cards.
I am not sure how many I submitted (100) i am guessing but if the scans I am providing are helping fellow collectors find the site it makes it worth my time and effort.
I am working on my 2011 and started in the 1970's I also have my remaining 2011 all they way through to 2018 I still need to enter (approx 6,000-8,000 more cards). I dont mind stopping to work on a trade but once I get them all entered my plan is to start sending trade offers myself.

I've been here for 3.25 years now (to the day!) and there is still plenty to do. I haven't even finished adding all of my cards yet (NBA and NHL left), but I do all kinds of stuff on here besides just entering cards. I have 2 cards sitting in front of me right now that I just acquired and want to scan to add them on here. This is the greatest card database on the internet and it doesn't end there. It has the best functionality (esp. for searching for unknown cards), the greatest adaptability of any card site, and the best group of members of any site I'm on or have been on in the past. I still thank Billy Kingsley for introducing me to this site over 3 years ago. I don't know how I lived without this site in the past. I'll certainly never leave it.

forester and T206....belated welcome to the site.
I've been here since 2011 and early on I was here mainly to track my collection. The site was much "quiter" back then. I don't even know if there was a forum. There also wasn't a lot of images uploaded.
I started trading about a year ago and the way trades are managed on this site and the quality of it's members have completly changed how I view the hobby. I've expanded my collecting focus and spend way more time (and money) on the hobby than I should.
From my perspective, the site has changed a great deal since I joined. When I joined, the site was just a good database; now it's a community.

I am new to this site as well. I stumbled upon this site about two weeks while looking up a card. I have been collecting now for about twenty five years and collect pretty football, baseball and basketball and recently been collecting hockey. I am happy that came upon this site cause i never knew it existed until now. This site has already been a great asset to me and will in the future cause its going to take me days months and years to catalog all the cards i got.
