Has anyone here participated in an online case break? I’m intrigued by them. I don’t collect a ton of new stuff but this seems like a halfway affordable way to get some decent cards.
p.s. sorry in advance if this has been covered ad nauseam all ready

I like them. It's a great way to either get only your team or cards you could never pull.

I have done some and it can cost you less overall if you are a team collector. However I agree with Billy. If you are winning an auction on ebay for example you really are paying a huge premium on the cards you are getting because generally I think the auction price is way too high for what you usually get.

Case breaks and box breaks fall into two completely different categories for me. Depending on the product, case breaks can command a stupid amount of money for nothing more than a chance at a "hit" or the next Judge/Bellinger/Ohtani. Box breaks can be fun, especially when run by the right person.
I'm not a fan of breaks myself, except for the affordable ones that a few blog writers do occassionally.
Ultimately, if you're a team collector and you can get into a case break of 2018 Topps Series 1 that you have 0 cards of, if the price isn't crazy it can't hurt, but you can certainly get an entire team set online for probably much cheaper. Depends on what you're looking for really.

I'll never quit collecting entirely, but I am downsizing. Check out my COMC store and help me thin out what I don't want so I can buy cards that I do want. See something you like? Send me a message on here, and we can knock the price down quite a bit. I'll even take a bit of a loss if it means getting you a card you really want.

We did have this discussion on here about 2 weeks ago. I tracked it down for you. Here's a link and I hope it offers more insight and suggestions:

I have done a few case breaks and to me its like scratching a sportcard lottery ticket. I seem to lose more then I win on pulls and hits.

I've done a few, but I never get anything good. In fact, on the last 5 I've done I got literally nothing at all. I'm pretty much done with these things. I'm throwing money away.

Turning off trading because my collection is in complete disarray after moving and I don't know when I can get it organized.
