If you could get any card signed by any person past or present, which card would you choose and who would you get it signed by?

Oh, I probably should have said mine. I'd get a Honus Wager T206 signed by Honus Wagner himself. That would be the ultimate for me. The granddaddy of them all raised up the nth power.

My bet would be that Wagner wouldn't sign the T206 - just like some players won't sign cards from former teams. After all, the reason there are so few is because he made them pull it from production.
I've gotten many cards signed over the years of collecting, including my 2 favorites - Mike Schmidt and Dale Murphy. My Darren Daulton is in my son's collection. My Pat Combs is in a special holder with the ball I got him to sign for me too. I guess I'd go with the 1933 Goudey (#53) Babe Ruth. A close 2nd place would be the 1911 T205 (gold border) #36 - Ty Cobb. Those are 2 sweet cards of 2 baseball greats.

My Wayne Gretzky With him playing for the Blues. I would have the only one. Like you said, Vrooomed, some players won't sign things that have them with certain teams...

I have four I'm
debating.. None of
them are really old
school or anything.
I'd want either
Dave Stieb Topps
rookie, Fergie
Jenkins (The only
card I have of his
is a 1981 OPC Super
Vet card) The third
one would be
tricky.. Jeff
Heath, likely the
Bowman rc.. The
last one would be
Charlie Simmer..
Any card..

I would have to base mine on rarity, so like Mike67, I would have a 4-way tie. I have 4 1 of 1's that would be awesome to have signed. Bobby Livingston UD Printing Plate Black, Jesse Maleuna Bowman Rookie Relics Printing Plate Magenta, Vincent Brisby 1995 Collector's Edge Back Printing Plate Magenta, and Randy McMichael Finest Printing Plate Cyan. A close 2nd (5th actually) would be a Ruud Van Nistelrooy UD Manchester United Ruud Awakening Gold #'d to 10. All of the other cards I already have that I would want autographed already are (the advantage to living in the same town as your favorite football player).

For me, it's not the card or the player that makes the autograph special, it's the memories of getting that autograph. There's an adrenaline rush there. For my 16th birthday, my parents took me to a card show in Niagara Falls. There, I stood in line for an eternity just to get an autograph from Mickey Mantle. It didn't matter that he retired from playing before I was even born, or that the only card of his I had wasn't from his playing days. I stood face to face with one of baseball's all time greats and got an autograph, and it was one of the best days of my young life. I've been lucky enough to meet other athletes and get autographs, and there is a story behind each one of them. I can't look at them without smiling and remembering how each one came about. I've bought a few autographed cards online, and they just don't have that same connection. You give me any card of any player, just give me the opportunity to get that autograph firsthand...

I can't limit my answer to a single player.
I have to break my response down into 3 different categories: 1) Past / deceased players, 2) Retired / but living players and 3) Current players.
1) First choice: Walter Johnson
Second choice: Satchel Paige
Third choice: Lou Gehrig
2) First choice: George Brett
Second choice: Yogi Berra
Third choice: Frank Robinson
3) First choice: Andrew McCutchen
Second choice: Yadier Molina
Third choice: Mike Trout
Great question!
It was fun thinking of different players. I agree with Kep75. I tried to list players that I would enjoy meeting and shaking their hand, in addition to having their autograph.

I should probably
have mentioned why
for those I named..
Charlie Simmer is
from my hometown. I
went to school with
his nephew.
Jeff Heath is from
Thunder Bay. Fergie
Jenkins because
he's a Canadian in
the HOF. Stieb just
because I liked him
when he played

My idol for 55 years, Yogi Berra. That would be just perfect. Wouldnt even need the auto, just to meet him in person.
