I am looking for suggestions on how to store, organize my collection.
Tradelist: by player or set?
PC: in binders or boxes?
I presently have my collection in different systems, but I am leaning to setting my tradelist by player.
Any comments, suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

There's no really right way on how to store- just you're best preference on what you want to accomplish and track.
For example, for me- I collect NY Giants and Philles as teams and then Eli Manning and Mike Schimdt as individuals. I keep all my Eli and Mike separate by year, maker, etc and the teams/players in a box by years. I also keep them in order on how they are listed in this site- it makes it easier to locate what you're looking for and when you do a print out you got the checklist.
Everything else or packs i pick up i either keep as invidual players (the important one's for my personal trading) or by year. The older sets like the 80's early 90's i just keep in binders because they aint worth money wise but a good fill for someone else who maybe interested in it. If you're into trade, as you come across people or regulars you'll what team or player they want so you may store them separately. I know a couple down here who collect Patriots, Eagles, or Browns. So i keep all them separate for when i see them. Hope that helps.

Thanks for the input. I mainly have them as sets at the moment but thinking about going to players and storing in 5000 ct boxes alphabetically and by sport.

I may be the worst person providing input but here goes.
For sets that I wish to keep together I have them in binders. All other cards that I wish to keep I have been busy putting them each in individual sleeves and storing them in 500 ct boxes. I also have themed binders. For example I have an all Pittsburgh binder which only has cards that I wish to keep from Pittsburgh teams. I also have an all goalies binder. Cards that I want to have in binders but I don't really care about the set I usually have in a binder organized by the team, for example Atlanta Thrashers then Buffalo Sabres then Chivas USA and so on.
At present I am working on separating some cards based on 3 different categories: autographs, memorabilia and women of sport.
There's my bit of input.

yeh, its hard, because if you're just going to hold them for trade or sale- you may come across someone who just wants Player "X" , leaving you to sift through everything or they may want Team "X" again leaving you to locate through all the sets ,etc..
All comes down to what you want to do, how you want to do it, and what you want to give up- making it easier for yourself. For your personal, I find that whatever is more appealing of "how" you want to showoff your set/people. Like I said- My 600+ Eli cards are all in individual toploaders or glass cases, by year. In order how they are listed on here. So the next new one i get, I know exactly where it goes! Have fun with it.

For the cards you would like to trade. I suggest, year and set. It is easier to find the value of the cards, because they are listed in the beckett that way. You will know exactly which card is where even if you only look at the box in which you store them in. If you get new cards it is also easy to see if you have duplicates of them.
If you looking for individual players, this website will sort your cards out for you player by player. Same for teams.
For your Personal Collection it's really up to you. I like to keep my Shaqs and Kobes together. They look nice side by side.

All my Tyron Smith cards are graded and stored, I built a web site for free for me to see them, but sometimes I pull them out and go through them.

Any other ideas?
I am finding trying to put them in order by what is listed here on the site is difficult since not all the cards are listed for the players.
For the players i have in a binder for my PC I am tagging the cards that are not listed with a posted note and hopefully the cards are added in the future.
Examples
Ray Bourque cards.
Listed here: 4031 possible cards
Beckett has 4688 listed
SCF: 4779
So putting together a listing of cards and an order for storage has been difficult.
I collect a few players and teams so I would love to use this site to track my cards but organizing and cataloging them has been difficult.
So in closing any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As we go along and more members discover unidentified sets and oddball stuff, those numbers will grow. For me, pages work great, but I organize by set and year. Every set is separate, they don't mix on a page, so organizing is quite simple, EVEN IF I add another set inbetween. SO, usung the Ray Bourque example, if you are to go by the site for organization by name, It goes by set and by year as well. that means that those 4031 cards all have to move if one Bourque card gets added inbetween the 2768th and 2769th card. heaven forbid you get a card that gets #1 spot! *shudders*
I suggest the box idea if you are going to organize that way. It cuts your Organizing time down immensely! less time wasted moving 1262 cards to include the 4032 card...
