I have a 1978 topps card with Floyd Bannister on the front and the # 6 on the back. The #6 card in this set is Nolan Ryan and #39 is Floyd Bannister. Is this an error? I've looked for this error and have yet to find it listed anywhere. Also, is there a value to this card if it is an error? Would appreciate any help. Thanks

Yes and No. This is a pretty common printing error it is called a "wrong back" error. Value wise like most printing errors it is not any more valuable than a non-error card, except to some error card collectors. They are not normally documented as errors. The error usually occurs when the card sheet is not matched up correctly during the cardback printing phase. Some collectors love cards like this while others avoid them as if they were cards from the middle of the junk wax years.

Most likely you have the Burger King version of the card. house wrote: I have a 1978 topps card with Floyd Bannister on the front and the # 6 on the back. DaClyde is right; it is a BK card you have. I once had the same dilemna with Yankee cards. Fronts are identicalto the regular Topps issue therefore, if the two sets are mixed (as was the case with my dilemna), you wonder why there are two cards of the same player with different backs. BK sets numbered to 22 plus a checklist.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.
