Who, according to database statistics, do you have the most cards of? I was surprised to see that I have more Barry Sanders cards than anyone else, with 66 different.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I haven't input any of our player collections, but I know we have about 500 different Darren Daulton cards. And we have well over 2000 different Steve Yzerman cards (but about 100-200 of those were those Sports card show special embossed cards). As for what's actually listed in the database (which is only complete sets), Cal Ripken, Jr. tops my list with 211 (probably because of all my Star Company sets!).

I have not inputted all my cards but as of right now for Baseball it is Roger Clemens at 61? Kind of strange since I do not collect him other than his Red Sox cards. Thought it would be Fred Lynn or Carlton Fisk. Hmmmmm
I mostly collect hockey so my top ten are
op Names
Seeing that the Avalanche players are my PC and Ray Bourque was my favorite player growing up and still collect his cards.
Decided to check racing since I have over 2K cards uploaded and was surprise to find Rusty Wallace at 115.

Trying to acquire one card for every for every set, insert, parralle, minor, euro, team issue, oddball etc sets produced for Hockey. Been an interesting project.

I count my collection differently than the Database does. For team cards I keep count of the team, not the person, for multi-person cards I keep count of how many cards I have depicting that number of people, and for the NBA, I do not have the college or multi-sport sets counted but I keep three seperate counts, whereas the Database combines them all. By my way of reckoning Jeff Gordon still leads, with 963 cards, a total I remember because I just typed up an update in my Excel chart two days ago.

I find it interesting that 7 of the 10 are NASCAR, considering that I have 78,000 NBA cards but only 26,000 NASCAR cards. It really shows how much better coverage the NBA gets, whereas with NASCAR it was just endless similar subsets of the same few drivers over and over.
My favorite NBA player only ranks 31st - Elton Brand- with 431. Non-sport doesn't appear until #497, (Superman) although it would be much higer if all the cards were properly connected to their subject. Hockey first appears at #745- Vincent Lecavalier- with 27 cards. Baseball first appears at #889- Tom Seaver, with 21 cards. My top football player comes in at #1886, Jacquez Green, with 6 cards. My highest Olympian is Shani Davis in #2350 with 4 cards. For golf, soccer, wrestling, horse racing, and tennis, I have no one with more than 1 card. The Database shows I have 7154 different people in my collection...although it is more than that considering not everyone has an entry yet. (Especially in Non-sports)
This is the first time I've explored the new "Past 100" listing of my collection, I LOVE it!

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I have a long way to go with logging my cards in, need boxes more than anything. But I would have to say with baseball it's Cal Ripken with at least 300 and then most likely Bagwell, Biggio, and Greg Maddux with at least 100 each. Nascar, for some weird reason probably Jeff Gordon. Long way to go logging in but looking forward to it!

Turns out it's Nolan Ryan. I do collect him, because he's one of my favorites, but I think it's mostly because he started playing just before my complete set streak begins, and he's got so many all-star, and record breaker, and leader, and highlights cards, and played for 27 years, that he just came out on top.

I still have a lot of cards to input as well boxes and boxes of cards to open, but just by looking at my stacks/piles of cards. I have to say my largest amount of cards would be Michael Jordan's, with at least 200.
Quick question for the guru's, I have a lot of different types of boxes of Baseball, basketball and football cards ranging from Upper Decks, TOPPS and mixed boxes with serial numbers. Do you think I should leave them unopened or open them?

Interesting to see the variety of answers, and it seems I wasn't the only one surprised by my top guy when I actually looked it up. Like many of you, I still have several boxes of cards to log, but that is a fun (yet slow) process for me.
Also, Bigpop, I personally have never had a lot of fun looking at unopened cards. I guess that depends entirely on what they are, if they are from a sport you collect, and if they are a set you already have tons of cards opened from. And if they are from the height of the overproduction years, they will never likely appreciate in value much. But I bet you would have a lot of fun opening them! (this is my opinion only, and shouldn't be considered the advice of a "guru")
