Since I was living in South Florida the last 9 years before moving to DC i was able to watch alot of Florida/Miami Marlins games on TV and saw the transformation of Mike Stanton to Giancarlo Stanton.  I thought i would look on here and see what his rookie card was going for and i realized that the "Mike Stanton" had been merged with another Mike Stanton who was a pitcher and his cards may be hiding potential gold mines in plain sight.  I am not sure who can straighten things out but it looks like starting in 2011 the real "Mike Stanton" was a new person.  Just a pecular thing I found while exploring the site.  I love what everyone has done and i hope i can contribute my little piece to making this place exceptional.

I see what has happened. This week Admin set up a new method of splitting up multi player cards, so a lot of dual player sets are being finished. I knew we had moved all the Giancarlo cards out of mike before.  Now All the multi Mike (Giancarlo) cards that had no name link are being added to mike (LHP) if they are from a year he used that name, as we are using the new feature. I guess we will have to be aware of this if we are splitting sets from stantons early years. I will try to work on some of these corrections later on if nobody beats me to them. Thanks for pointing this out!

I remembef the original news articles announcing his name change and the announcers tripping up during the play by play the first few months till they got his name straight. But a couple of 500 ft home runs will get you noticed.
