Folks--
I'm getting a handle on the site, fishing around for things and having a great time. But it's taking forever to learn basic things like searching for a card to add to your collection, adding it, putting it on your trade list, etc. (I have a RIDICULOUS amount of stuff that, frankly, I would be happy to just give away to people who need it. That's the fun of this hobby if you ask me.) Would a seasoned veteran be interested in having a conference call to teach the ropes to rookies like me more quickly? It's going to take me absolutely forever to start from scratch and my guess is we could get more stuff on the site and have a good time talking collecting, etc., in the process. I could easily arrange. Thoughts?
Also -- for what it's worth, I was a baseball writer for 20 years, and have a great collection of Sporting News Guides and Registers dating back to 1960, All-Star and World Series programs for events I covered, and tons of other stuff I'd like t find good homes for. This sounds like the right place to do that.

Hi Alan, any question you may have can be answered quickly by the usual members here. Is there anything specific you are looking for? It's not nessicarily a fast process to get cards on here- but the more you do, the faster it seems to go.
One thing that I learned by doing it wrong first, if you have more than one copy of a card and that is your tradelist, don't just move the one in your collection to the tradelist, because if you do that and trade your duplicate, it won't show in your collection anymore.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Welcome Alan,
Let me first say, "World Series programs? Here's one I've been lusting after."
Secondly, if you have Skype account, a Skype call (audio) might work. Both members can be on their computers, on the site. The Skype window can be minimized and moved out of the way. And you can be walked-through some of the processes. Here's a screenshot of what it might look like (notice the Skype window in the upper left).

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Alan...I have been on for a year, and still consider myself a newb. So far though, great site and great people. I am a Detroit Tiger fan and avid card collector, I would be interested to know if you covered any Detroit events and/or have any Detroit memrobilia. And, welcome to the site!

Hi Alan,
I'm a newbie to the site as well. Uploading my cards has been a great way to force organization into my ADHD brain (snicker), and it's just a relaxing thing to do after draining myself all day. I'd be happy muddle through this with you. I hoard collect lots of cards, but I have a soft spot for Ivy Leaguers who made it to the pros (it's a small, but proud, collection). Feel free to shoot me a message, and all the best to you.
David

Peace and cards, David Building up baseball sets slowly but, well, slowly. Residence in New England has no bearing on my favorite teams, players, or how I pronounce "card." Forgave my dad for putting his '52 Mantle in his bike spokes, but not my brother for plastering his room with my Star Wars stickers.
