This is certainly a well "loved " card. Possibly the "most-loved" hockey card I've ever seen in one piece. No, No. Back in the day when cards were only collected by kids, the favourite ones, usually stars of the day, got the most "love". They got to travel in coat pockets and pants pockets to school and evreywhere you went to be played with and shown to friends. Cards of players that nobody cared about usually stayed home in the shoebox and stayed "mint". Remember "scarmbles" and throwing cards at a brick wall to knock over cards lined along the bottom and "win" them? Cards also made bicycles into motor bikes uisng a cloths pin. Those cards were "loved".

 In my neighborhood, the stars stayed at home and the commons got put into the bike spokes,  commons were also used for flipping.    I grew up in an area of NJ where you were either a Yankees or Phillies fan.     My brother and I would trade our Phillies commons for guys like Banks, Musial, Snider and Williams.  It was a fun time.

It's too bad that some sets got overdone, ProSet for example, I pulled a Domink Hasek rookie card from a dollarama set the other day, but since it's ProSet it's only worth about $1.50. Personally though I am into cards for collecting. I wish my dad hadn't sold his, he had Bobby Orr's rookie card, let's just say it sold for more than $1.50
