Greetings and Thanks all -- I appreciate the answers to the questions I have posed thus far. More so I appreciate the dedication and effort into making this site work. As I have mentioned in a couple of my messages, I am finally getting back in the hobby and starting to formally catalog my collection (collect St Louis Cardinals exclusively). For the last however many years, I would buy "stuff" and dump into my storage. Like many of you, I'm sure, I started collecting as a child back when the rotary-dial phone was considered modern technology and tiffany sets were still a thing of the future. Inserts, and parallels and chrome and fractors and superfractors and "super-duper-anti gravity-4D-reverse osmosis-super-hidefinition refractors" were less of a conception or perception than a light saber or time machine.
And this internet thing - I think it may actually be more than a fad and will stick around.
I'm enjoying and appreciating the fruits of the labor of many members here. Hopefully I can add my two cents from time to time. The more I enter my collection, needs and dupes into the data base, the more I appreciate the members here - so a big thanks! Eventulaly I will have everything entered and then let the trading begin. I already see some holes that I did not realize existed in set completions and many of them are common penny cards. I look forward to getting to know you and trading some cardboard.
This has been a sentimental experience this last month as I log my goodies into the data base. Childhood memories of saving my allowance and running to the store to buy a pack of cards -- every time like christmas morn as I tore the pack open to to see what I got. Trading my dupes with my friends to pick up my favorite players. We assigned "value" to a card based on OUR favorite players and teams. I lost my best childhood friend to suicide nearly two years ago. I cannot understand and have not quite figured out how to deal with it. HOWEVER, I smile now of thinking of our trades and how we always thought we got the better of each other in our transactions as we both walked away and smiled knowing that we each did! Ah the smell of the cardboard and the taste of that nasty gum as I collected the cracked broken pieces and chewed what I could of it. Building ball diamonds and stadiums with legos and lincoln logs and using our cards as players -- making up rules as we went along, Whats an ultra pro sleeve? Hell we used our cards in our bicycles to make them sound like motorcycles. Wow - great memories of the past and now creating future memories as I build sets for my son and my grandsons.
Sorry for the distraction -- seriously just meant to introduce myself and thank every one for their past, present and future endeavors in making this site a success now and in the years to come!
Thanks and Go Cardinals!

Please Please Please read my profile before making a trade proposal. My "wants" for my Cardinals collection is accurate from 1900 - 2008. I still have about 12,000Plus Cardinals cards from 2009-present to sort through and enter. Please do not offer any Cardinals cards from 2008-present unless you contact me first as there is a chance I already have it amongst the multitude to still go through.
I still have about 30K Cardinals duplicates that are not yet entered in the database as FS/FT.
