It was only a few weeks ago that we hit the 500,000 mark and as of last night's calc. we were at 560,134. At this pace we will reach 1,000,000 in 4 or 5 months. The number of contributors has increased dramatically over the past couple of years. As a groupware undertaking what we are doing here is truly amazing. At some point we should contact the Smithsonian Institute as I would think they would be interested in this as a significant historical record. |

it's interesting to note as well, this is one of the only free to use sites of this nature that provides for ALL sports PLUS non sport collectors with such versatility. My main focus was originally my hockey card collection when I started with tcdb. My current coal is to complete all checklists and add all sets for older non sports sets as I am finding major holes in the 50's and 60's. These sets played major rolls in the hobby and should be represented as well. Despite plenty of distaste for this group of collectables, I'm proud to help improve this site and I look forward to 1mil marker!

had the access to
the checklists, I
would have worked
on getting them
posted myself. I
did a lot of 90s
sets but most of
the older, pre-
1980s sets, I don't
have any idea what
exists. I see
someone is posting
some of the Civil
War News cards;
getting one of them
is pretty high on
my wantlist.
I have over 10,000
of the cars
included in what's
been posted, and I
have no intention
of stopping any
time soon :) I
still have about
100,000 cards left
to scan.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Simplest answer ever about the civil war news cards......... Ya CAN'T have MINE!!!!!! :P lol Did some reading on those... I will most definitly want to hold onto them for a while.......... might even catch me bidding against you one ebay for 'em.... O_o ha ha. (All in good fun :) )

The One Million mark will be awesome. I love this site. Hearing that number, I am now motivated to start scanning as many cards as I can.

Just a thought... Should we make the 1 mil marker into sort of a contest? Could be fun and it would bump up speed towards that mile marker...
