Guys, I saw the coolest thing ever tonight. A baseball card vending machine at Victory Field, home of the Indianapolis Indians of the International League. It's full of Indians team sets from various years (many only $2), as well as some of the packaged Topps baseball team sets, also from various years. I had to take a picture for you all to see!

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

nice prices for team sets. A local store near me used to have one of these machines, I bought some a couple times. I don't think its still there, but I never go to the store anymore. It had an assortment of junk era packs for a quarter to singles to Pokemon and Magic. I'm not sure it did well, but I liked looking at them the times I went.

I can't say I've ever seen cards in a vending machine. What a cool idea.

Back in the 1990s, a couple stores here in NJ had them in their entrance, next to the gumball machines, etc...... I think you got 3 cards for a quarter. If you want to unload your commons, buy a machine and pay some store to let you put it in their lobby.

Cool find. I've come across vending machines in Rest Areas that have sundries and toys. And I remember one having a row or two of trading cards. But I've never seen a whole machine of just cards.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Reminds me a little of a gumball machine my LCS used to have years ago. Some years ago they got rid of it I think when they made a move across town.
It looked like this:

They actually had two (maybe 3 at one time) one was .25cents the other was .50cents. The 50cent one they put cards with a little higher value. Both machines they loaded with vintage. Many of my first cards from the 1950s and a few early 1960s came from those machines. Just one quarter and you would get an old baseball card and a tiny penny gumball.

I collect: Baseball, Football, Hockey, Mostly Vintage pre1980, My Homie teams - Washington/Baltimore Teams Senators (Twins, Rangers), Expos/Nationals, Redskins, Capitals, Bullets/Wizards - HOFers - Non-sport (mostly TV shows and movies). My Trade List is very much a work in progress CaptKirk42s Trading Card Blog Curly W Cards Strive For '65 YouTube klandersen42

My LCS had one of them too - he used to have the cards in cardboard holders to keep the cards safe as they were pushed out.
