What always has concerned me is what if they decided to swap your stuff? Or say it was lost, heard of that happening, even with delivery confirmation. I'm not big on slabbing my cards.. but specific ones.. 79-80 Gretzky, T205s, T206s I have protexcted them.. to keep them somewhat preserved especially the older cards that tend to be really fragile.

Do they still do grading on-site at the National? I have been to one in years, but went when grading was first getting huge.

Then it goes up to...$18 per again? I'm not even sure. Not worth it to me, but maybe acceptable to some. And they do have monthly specials. Too bad you can't just walk into a store and have it done....

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Last two years at the expo I went to in Edmonton, Alberta Beckett had a booth right in amongst everyone and you could get grading and slabbing done right there for special "expo" prcing. Looked like a couple of dudes staring at cards and writing a bit of jibberish on a paper then slapping it in a slab with a number on it. I kinda giggled and thought "hell I could do that!"

Only cards I ever had slabbed were at a show in Willow Grove or Fort Washington over 10 years ago by PSA. I had my Jordan RCs done for the future when I would sell them. Recently sold one and for people bidding long distance, without card in hand, it was a must to have it graded. I would never have anything valued under $100 graded.
