Thanks for the tips guys, will be sure to look out for them, I have never seen them anywhere. Billy I'm in Canada so not a big concern, it would cost more than its worth to get them to me, but thank you for the offer. =)

What's bad is when the card is soooo thick, it won't fit even in the thick sleeves. Think the largest I was able to find said it would hold up to a 180 pt, and have been able to fit larger than that in one, but something along the lines of 240 required the use of a team bag until I just used a snap case. Can't recall what the card was, damn ridiculous if you ask me, no need to be making a card the thickness of a cinder block.

I actually buy some of the thicker ones on purpose...when I send lots of 50 cards or more, I put 4 or 5 in one of these, then in a team set bag...so these can serve multiple purposes...
thanks, mark z

I love penny sleeves, but there are only 3 ways that I use them. I always use them for cards going in a toploader, always use them for die-cut cards (even inside a page), and lastly for trading cards. If I had any screwdown cases, I would use them there too b/c of the case itself. They don't fit in a snap-tight or one-touch magnetic case well, so I usually don't use them there. For the thicker penny sleeves, I use those to put several cards in when I make a trade. Those sleeves are always in the middle of a team bag with toploaders on each side that contain the higher-valued cards that are also in a sleeve before they go in the toploader. I NEVER use tape on cases/toploaders (even the painters tape, which works well). I might use tape to make sure the team bag stays closed during shipping, but I also always fold a side down so the tape is easy to remove without damaging the team bag. My goal is to make everything re-useable and easily accessible, while still being fully safe during transit.
I am always ticked off when I receive a trade or purchase that has cases/bags covered in plastic tape (aka. Scotch Tape, but not true when it isn't made by 3M). The sticky glue remains on everything it was attached to and makes those items useless for re-use.

I echo the top loader, die cut and shipping use. I'll use them for short prints or certain inserts when storing a set in a box.
I don't think I have ever actually bought a pack of sleeves, though. Maybe once. I get so many from trading and buying cards that I've never been short enough to need to buy them. I throw away any of them that have any sign of junk (mildew?) on them from old cards and just keep the clear ones. I hold them up to the light and quickly check 'em, then put the good ones in a little box that I can pick 'em out again easily.

I'm continually entering tradeable inventory. Full want lists are at https://thecollectivemind.blogspot.com/p/baseball-wants.html Use the green tabs to navigate. Have entered 1994 thru 2021 baseball and 2009 thru 2020 football so far. Don't have many newer than 2020 except A&G in baseball, and very little beyond 2019 in football. My extra hockey is older than that. The best I have for a tradelist otherwise is https://thecollectivemind.blogspot.com/search/label/Disperse%20the%20Hoard
