Ugh ........ I found a card today in my ``to do`` pile today and have just noticed it is not in the DB in any shape of form, needless to say it is a substansial sized set. 13-14 UD Team Canada Master Collection. About five or so Ranfords in it but for any hockey collector its a must to be on here. Just looking to see if anyone has the mad skill set to do these any quicker than I ............ =( ........... The only place i have found it listed so far today is at the UD site, I have nto checked Beckett or elsewhere. I gotta go do yardwork .... cant be down here all the time. Any tips, info and/or help would be thankful for sure. Here is the UD link :

There apparently are two different sets for that year Mark, there is the one uploaded on to the DB and its called 2013 Upper Deck Team Canada, got that one all buttoned up, this new one is called 2013-14 Upper Deck Team Canada Master Collection and the Ranford card is a SN499 on super thick stock. Not sure how I missed it exactly but I did. Will start it up now ............. grrrrr. >( lol

OK so now I eat crow!!! Sorry Mark, it appears that Upper Deck smokes pot as they have it listed as 13-14 on their website. They say it was released on April 18th, 2014. I finally found it alright listed as a 15-16 set at Cardboard Connection. WTF ?!?!?!? No wonder I am going grey. Well now that I know where it is, how do we determine what year it is, my Ranford card has 2014 printed right on the back of the card. How is that 15-16 ???? Any help lol.

Good you found it, would hate to toss another onto my to do pile. I'm about half done with the checklists for SPA, so many subsets and update sets...

OK so an update, it seems that UD spent "several" years prepping this product so that there would be zero redemptions needed, this could explain why the cards were printed in 2014 and not released until August of last year (as per Beckett.com) So now ...... do I list it as 2015 or 2015-16 or even as UD has it listed on thier site as 2013-14 just a very late release (my gut says 15-16 but am I the one to decide) ............ Admin help please ?!?!?!

This is always a tricky one. My opinion is to go with what the manufacturer calls it on the card, since that is how future collectors would identify it. There could be a note to indicate the true release date. I've noticed in the release calendar that UD's first 2016-17 set releases a week before their final 2015-16 set. But I think you gotta go with what the manufacturer calls them or you could end up with two sets with the same name.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Thanks for the input David. Of course the set info that Upper Deck has put out never shows a year, nothing on the wooden case it comes in, not even any of the advertising. Since it released last year all the main sites like Beckett and so on are all calling it either 2015 or 2015-16.

So the card itself doesn't have a year printed on it? I wasn't catching that part. Sorry about that. Your sets confuse me...
