Am I correct that I thought I heard awhile back that Topps was no longer licensed to make football cards? If so, very disappointing after collecting complete sets since 1969 (with the exception of 3 years). I was wondering what, if anything, collectors would choose to fill in for the missing Topps set this year? Personally, I am considering not finding a substitute and concentrating on the 3 incomplete years as well as pre 1969 Topps, and pre 1967 Detroit Lions Topps and Philadelphia Gum issues.

Yes, printed cards that is. Panini now has the exclusive NFL rights to print cards. Topps will have digital NFL cards.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

Those digital cards are so difficult to get into the pages too!

They're even harder to have graded and slabbed. I can see it now . . . .

Nice photoshop! Love it.
I see 2016 Topps listed in the database here. Will Topps print cards without logos like Donruss (Panini) does for baseball?

Now iM concerned some of my digiTal cards won't grade a 10. Should I get my PR13 Alex Smith graded? (Yes, I really have one of those from those few weeks I was into the digital card apps).

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

John Deere is still going, and Ford isn't going anywhere.
Panini can keep their sets. I may be enticed to buy a few singles here and there of players I collect like I always have, but I refuse to buy any of their packs, or boxes, especially FB.
I find it disturbing to give out exclusive rights to make sports cards. Limiting the number of sets a company can manufacture is the better choice.
Digital cards? No thanks.
