This has probable been asked a thousand times before. What is the best way to price cards besides Beckett? Thanks.

What he said.
Plus look at other places they sell cards. Comc.com. Sportslots. Compare all the sellers and figure out what a real and reasonable price is. Get a good sampling before you decide. And focus on condition. My baseball card store always tells my wife, when she goes in with my list to get my birthday present, that the prices I've listed are too low. But they're actual sale prices from eBay.
Are you pricing to sell? To buy? To know the value of your collection. Oddly, those prices might vary. Expect to get less when selling, to pay more when buying. I think most people overvalue their own collection.
Good luck with whatever you're doing.

I've seen a lot of cards on COMC priced way out of line with reality. Just because there is only one on their site does not make it a rare treasure.

and if you are buying online do you include the ship cost in the cost of the card?
so an 18 cent card on sportlots with 1.00 ship cost is really a 1.18 even though the book price may be 50 cents or whatever

It varies to each person. I usually use a Beckett, if I can't find it there then I check the Beckett Marketplace on Beckett's website. Plus for non sports cards I check Non Sports Update. There are different options for you to choose from at least.

yep that is right, different tools for different folks
I use beckett the most for singles, and use as a guide (not necessarily what I pay)

I rarely pay what I consider value on eBay. I usually hope a low bid goes through and if not I live to bid another day. I have plenty of cards I want doesn't mean I have to have them.

When I'm buying, I always consider the shipping as part of the price of the card. That's what I'm paying.

Absolutely correct. I've seen stuff actually sell on eBay for prices that surprised me. And sometimes, I won't have a good feel for the price of a card and see that someone is selling it for less than I expected. Gotta check out all the options. Sold eBay is the best, although I'd add the caveat that sold through auction eBay is the best. Some dupe might buy anything at the "buy it now" price.
