I found another dishonest counterfeit seller on Ebay listing fakes of vintage stars for over $50. Reviewing the feedback, I see that someone has already fallen victim to this seller, leaving only neutral feedback, and the seller had the audacity to blame the buyer for not reading the fine print. "Buyer Beware" is not an acceptable form of business in America these days and that buyer should have received a full refund. The seller should indicate in the title that his cards are fake, Period. The item description says that he's listing it as a reprint, as though it could actually be real or something. There's nothing on the card marking it as a reprint.
For the example that I've included a link to below, the 1968 Topps Nolan Ryan Rookie is selling for $50 + $3 S&H with a Buy It Now price of $65 + $3 S&H. Anyone that understands grading and pricing knows that a '60s Baseball card in P/F/G condition is worth 5%-10% BV. A N.Ryan RC has a BV of $600, so 10% of $600 would be $60. This seller is listing his fraudulent card for the same price as an original card in lower grade condition, which further adds to his deceptive practices.

I agree. In the last line he says he is "listing it as a reprint". Then it's a reprint and it should be in the title even though it does say so in "item specifics". Should be in the title.
You should shoot off an email to ebay about it. It borders on fraud.

It doesn't count as a reprint though in my mind unless Topps is doing it. It's straight up counterfeiting. Not the same thing.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

I am tired of people doing this bullsh*t. We need a way to be able to post to their listings, that the item is a reproduced fake and only worth the paper it's printed on. It only takes one person to buy this card, thinking it's real, and the seller makes his money and moves on. Ebay needs to enforce that the word "reprint" or "reproduction" or "copy" goes in the sellers title decription.

I agree with NJDevils, the seller may note that they are "selling it as a reprint", but if it doesn't say reprint in the title, you are not, you look to be selling an original. It would be akin to listing a car, then in the small print noting it is a scale model replica. It needs to be in the title.

I might actually agree with you on this one. First, I agree that, unless it's an official reprint from the company, it's not a reprint. It's a counterfeit. And finally coming to the realization that there are counterfeit cards out there has changed my purchasing habits, I'm sad to say. I'll only buy expensive cards from my local card shop or if they're graded. I don't even fully trust all the graded ones.
But as far as this seller is concerned, even the line where it says "selling as a reprint" goes on to say that it's a card from 1968. That, in itself, is contradictory. It says elsewhere that the year of the card is 1968. No it's not. The year of the card's year is whenever this thing got counterfeited, probably a good 40 years later.
So, while I still contend that if all the information is in the listing, the buyer has to take about 50% of the blame, I'm not convinced that all of the information was clearly available to a potential buyer here. Reading everything would still leave a buyer confused. Of course, as soon as someone's confused about what they're buying, they shouldn't be shelling out 50 bucks, but this seller is still scummy.
Darn. I'm gonna want to buy this card in the next year or so. And I won't trust what I'm buying. Sad.

I just hate how he lists it as a "68 Topps". If it's a reprint, it's not a 68 Topps - it's a reprint OF a 68 Topps.

Looks like the auction ended with no bids. Luckily they did not get away with it this time.

I looked back at his sold listings. He has sold a bunch of cards lately for $50-$60. Several of the listings said I don't know much about vintage cards so I'm listing this as a reprint. Coincidently all he has listed are supposedly "vintage cards."
I'm sure a lot of people have been duped into buying them without realizing what the are getting. Very frustrating.
