As some of you may have noticed, I have been uploading images of quite a few minor league sets, many of them by TCMA. Occasionally, I will find a lone card in an otherwise empty set. Many times, someone has uploaded an image of a card that has come from one of the many "collector's kits" to which TCMA contributed, if not distributed in the late 80s-early 90s.
Here are a few tell-tale signs that your TCMA card is a reprint (done by TCMA) after the original set was done:
1. The presence of an MLB logo on the back of the card. 99 44/100% of originals were done without MLB licensing. Later, in the 1980s, TCMA came to an agreement with MLB to get legal.
2. A card that originally had colored borders but now has a thin white border around it. Many minor league reprints fall into this category.
3. The card that originally had blue print on the back now has black print.
4. If the card came in a batch of other random singles from various TCMA sets.
If you're not sure, shoot me a message and perhaps I can help you.
