I am new here and was just wondering if anybody here wouldbe interested in something like this.
I am currently working on a project to get better at programming. It is a game based on collecting cards, one of my favorite hobbies. It is still in a text based phase with only Topps and Bowman baseball up to 1960. This will be a free program and I am in no way looking to make money from this anytime in the near future.
You start out in the 1951 with a set amount of starting money, and have an Allowance/Wage of 5 cents an hour even when not in game. Packs cost you 5 cents and you get 5 cards. When you get to a select percent of cards from all sets up to that year, currently 75%, you advance one year in time. As you advance in time packs start to go up in cost at about a 15% increase per year. New pack price and Allowance/Wage will also increase over time. The game saves with each pack opening. You can view what cards you have for each set.
Some other features I am looking to include
Convert to a graphic based game including images of all cards(in the works)
Add selling of duplicates
Adding choice of decade to start, making it difficult to get the older cards
Adding more sports, and inserts for the sets
Please feel free to leave any feedback positive or negative. I am always lookin for ideas and input.
Thanks for the wonderful site. It has helped immensely in the creation of this game as well as my own collecting purposes.

PS Site Admin: If I get a good ways into the program, is there a way I might be able to get and use some of the images from the site without having to load each page, so I don't waste a bunch of your bandwidth.
