It's Tony Dorsett's birthday! There was not a more exciting runner to play the game, or to don the Cowboys uniform. I recall being ecstatic when Dallas drafted him as I loved watching him play for the Pitt Panthers in his Heisman Award season.

There are so many memories of him breaking through the line where no one  was going to catch him. I can still recall Dandy Don Meredith commenting, "99-yards!" on Monday Night Football when TD took the handoff and got past the stacked Vikings defense. He finished off the touchdown by toeing the sideline.

Great memory from a great runner.

He may have done so at the end of the game, but not during the play. You can just hear him saying, "99-yards!" of may be it was just "99", but he knew no one was going to stop TD on that run in the open.

As a lifelong Cowboys who was born in the early 50s,  as much as I liked Dorsett,  I have to give the most exciting  moniker to Walter Payton

Well, NJD, it IS TD's birthday, but I will raise you one, and go Chicago on you, too: Gale Sayers, another exciting runner, especially in the mud!
