So the other day I was sorting through a 5000 ct box of 90 Donruss baseball because who wouldn't want to sort 5000 90 Donruss. Anyway as I was sifting through memory lane I started reading the back of the Tommy Herr DK card and it mentions that he helped St Louis to 3 NL pennants (82,85,87) and two WS titles (82 and ???). So is this my first UER finding or has it been mentioned elsewhere? Or even better does anyone have one that states only winning one WS title?

I don't know what any other cards say, but perhaps the author was from St. Louis. I moved to St. Louis in February of 1986 and have heard, thousands of times, about how the Cards were "cheated" and "robbed" in Game 6 of the 1985 series. When people find out I'm a Royals fan it is ALWAYS discussed. I think most St. Louisans really believe, in their hearts, that the Cardinals won the '85 World Series.

I can't believe no one noticed this until now.
Note should read "DK, DP, UER"
Note2 should read "UER: Should be one World Series title"
Enjoy.
PS: I'm almost afraid to say that this one should be listed as a UER as Donruss's quality was SO pathetic, we might find something on every card.... 1990 Donruss - complete set - UER.

As a Cardinal fan, what they say is true.

Another unabashed Redbird fan here, and I don't think most of us (St. Louisans or otherwise) feel we were "cheated".
"Robbed"? Oh, yeah....absolutely. But not cheated. And by and large we do love to talk about it, especially with Royals fans. Heck, this thread is evidence enough there.
Perhaps we should consider raising another pennant at the stadium between the ones for '82 and '06 that reads "???" as a tribute to this card.

I don't recall what the issue was with the '85 WS b/t STL and KC. What was it?
I remember the '87 WS where it was claimed that Minnesota was using fans in the Dome to blow towards the infield while STL was on offense and to pull air towards the outfield stands when the Twins were at the plate.

For you Cardinal fans, I had a uncle that lived in western part of Kansas and he said the batter runner was out, the umpire called him out. You can see it. If you watch the re-play you can clearly see it. The umpire calling him out! So he is out.
Let not talk about Game 7 and Andujar.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

Just a reminder to all. When someone does put a "var", "UER" or "corr" in, please tell us what it is. It should not be a state secret.
