While trying to identify all of the different sets (some of which may have never been "officially" released) has been one difficulty of acquiring the collection of a former Signature Rookies dealer, one interesting thing has come of it. I now have a new front runner in the worst signature ever category.
Former top prospect McKay Christensen has a signature that looks like he signed the card, then forgetting he had done so (and not being able to see the first signature) signed the card again right over top. It is definitely the most convoluted, hard to read signature I've ever come across. (If you want to see what I mean, check out his Signatures card in the 1994 Signature Rookies Draft Picks set, card #6) How about the rest of you? Who has the worst signature you've ever seen?

Wow, the Kozlov one is bad! Easy to read, but still. It's barely better than the old signature lines on documents where if you can't read or write, you mark an X and a witness then has to sign for you.

Considering most US schools have stopped teaching handwriting (cursive), it's only going to get worse.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

the "gentelmens signature" has gone away. Most anything after '80 are horrible. There was actually a sports news hsitory video done on the autograph and how it changed so much from the early days to now. No respect in it today (for the most part). and like Cigs said, withit out being taught, the furture players will only be using Emoji's for their trademark

Somehow the autograph matches the person. Ted Saskin the former NHL Players Association executive director who was fired after it was found he had led a campaign to hack into player email accounts. What is that? A capital "A"... for a-hole?

My son and I have 70+ autographed baseballs. The players from the 60's, 70's and 80's (for the most part) have nice clear signatures. Autographs from the more modern players.... a scribble. Not everyone, I sould say, but most.
I find it amusing that my son has a holder for 3 baseballs which house: Tom Glavine, John Smoltz & Greg Maddux. The Glavine is a nice clear sig. The Smoltz, you can easily read John S but the rest of his last name is difficult. The Maddux is nothing but a scribble. I can't distinquish even a G or a M.
I read an article several years ago that Mike Schmidt wrote lamenting how the modern athlete no longer takes the time to sign his name. If was an interesting read.
