Good Day All;
A while ago I cataloged my card collection and am ready to start selling it off on eBay, having picked up a new scanner, sleeves and toploaders. I have run into a few roadblocks however.
The blogs and tip sites for selling are primarily American, which would be fine except when pricing out packing costs, a 100 pack of bubble mailers (which is the shipping standard) in the US is about $15, where as here I am finding the average price to be about $40+. So with a Top Loader (~$0.30) Im looking at ~$0.70+ for packing, with the fees ebay & paypal take off the transaction it seems like a lof of cost and loss on a card that will sell for less than a buck.
I was looking into bulk (teams, players) lots but those seem to be harder to find buyers on and any larger bulk sales would be in 'quicksell' territory. I am aware that when selling especially selling online (fees, shipping) that I would not receive book value for my cards, but I would like to minimize the loss and get a price thats fair for both parties.
When I check what the cards have sold for I find most of the sellers (for cards I can find a history of) most of the sellers are from the US which makes me wonder about the Candian market and if there will be enough interest to generate sales.
I had planned to sell my higher priced cards individually first and deal with the lesser ones later (also, its a lot of scanning :p) but would like to have all the rest of the packing ready to go before I start listing.
Any Candian sellers who can offer some insight would be appreciated.
EDIT(clairity): Bubble mailers cost on average $0.40-$0.70c each, is there a cheaper option on packaging as packing costs $0.70+ per 1-3 cards
