They have got to be tired of me complaining about the too small sets on their blog. (They don't post more than half my comments). Really, if they would just make a good sized set that covers ever player in the league, I wouldn't have a complaint. I mean, yes, I would a little bit- the lack of even a single set with career statistics, not listing a player's hometown, or when they were drafted, putting college crap in real sets. The complete lack of coach cards. But all of that would be mitigated by even one set that truly covered the NBA.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. I'd like to see them make one well designed set with the background still in the pictures every year. It should have coaches, team cards, league leaders, all nba teams, all stars, award winners, playoffs, finals, etc. I'd be ok if it included Adam SIlver, owners, mascots and cheerleaders. Don't stamp it with gold foil and try to make it elegant. We have 20-YO graphic designers at work who are more talented than whoever designs for Panini.
Try to make the consumer feel like when they saw their first UD or Stadium Club card, not like the first time they saw a 1996 Pacific card.

Disappointing news. Exclusive licenses are not good for the hobby. I don't care if it's bowling or basketball. No card company should have a monopoly on cards.

I just hope they never get MJ to agree to a deal.
As far as I'm concerned, the last NBA set to come out was made by Topps, or even the dreadful UD.

and this is why i still love the 1991 Pro Set football set, i know some of the cards in the set would be better used for more player cards but with minimum 17 payers + 1 coach card + rookies for each team (including 2nd round draft picks), stats on the back plus full colour pictures you can't go wrong

I am primarily a basketball card collector, so I'm not a fan of this news. I'd like to one day see a new set of NBA Stadium Club or Black Diamond.

Exclusive licenses are crap. It allows Panini to put no effort into their sets. There are one or two decent Panini sets, but overall, it is not a great effort. They operate like someone that knows they don't have to cater to customers. Just secure that exclusive license, and who cares about the collectors. I wish Topps and UD were back on for NBA.
