I've taken the plunge, dove right in, and started putting some cards in binders and releasing them from their plastic cases in boxes. I did it first with the '89 Score Aikman RC, then the '90 Score Emmitt RC, and then followed that with the '86 Topps Rice RC. None were graded, so I haven't ventured into deep waters just yet!
I've basically got a calm demeanor, but the stomach was churning a bit when I popped open the cases. That subsided when I placed the cards safely in their place in the sheet next to its buddies. I've got a few more that will be transferred as I continue the safe releases.
