Does anyone know why some team logos are shown and others are blotted out in this set?

Players changed teams. In the case of Rick Monday they removed the KC A's logo because they were now Oakland A's. Interesting Ken Harrelson card, they changed the KC A's logo to a Boston Red Sox "B" logo.
I noticed five cards have the wrong teams assigned and the set has been verified. Verify, verify, verify before locking down a set.

Someday my cards may double in value and then be worth half of what I paid for them.

It was also an year the leagues grew by 2 teams each. KC &Seattle in AL and SD & Montreal in NL.
Old photos #6 Luis Aparicio uniform hat was airbrushed also to ChiSox and from Baltimore before the 1968 season he was traded.

Robert “It breaks your heart. It is designed to break your heart. The game begins in the spring, when everything else begins again, and it blossoms in the summer, filling the afternoons and evenings, and then as soon as the chill rains come, it stops and leaves you to face the fall alone. You count on it, rely on it to buffer the passage of time, to keep the memory of sunshine and high skies alive, and then just when the days are all twilight, when you need it most, it stops. Today, October 2, a Sunday of rain and broken branches and leaf-clogged drains and slick streets, it stopped and summer was gone.” ― A. Bartlett Giamatti robertkimble.us/tradingcards

They must have used old stock photos of Wynn and Staub since by '69 (or 1968 for this set) Houston had been Astros for three years and no longer Colt 45s, yet their caps are airbrushed too.

Staub was traded in Jan '69 and was an Expo, that's why they airbrushed his cap.

I noticed that some of the backs have black ink while others have the regular light blue ink for this insert set. I wonder what the difference was? BTW the OPC versions have blank backs so it isn't that.

I don't see black ink. Just a darker blue probably caused by the quality of the scan.
