Pacers just won their opener. 140 points. Running the court. Could be a fun season.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

140! That's a lot. Going to have to watch the replay. League Pass free preview week! I just watched the 76ers/Wizards and now have Timberwolves at Spurs on. I do not like the T-Wolves new jerseys. They look like practice jerseys or summer league jerseys...not real NBA jerseys. But, we will get to see a player wearing#67 on a card for the first time ever, the last time it was worn was 1946-47, pre cards. Also hoping Jose Calderon made the Cavs team, he was wearing#81 in the preseason...a number that's never been worn in the NBA or the BAA. He didn't play last night.

VERY slow trading due to health problems. Not transferrable so safe to trade with, just moving is painful and can't always access the cards. Just got done watching my Suns “play” the Blazers. I think Hayward’s injury was easier to watch. Ugh.

48 point loss, and McCollum didn't play. Rough night, Sahal.
Billy, I haven't seen the T-Wolves unit yet. I seem to be one of the few who like the new Pacers though. I saw a number in the 90s on the Hawks tonight. Forgot who it was. Maybe that isn't new. Atlanta may be another fun team to watch this year. Schroder looked real good from what I saw.
Glad I'm not the only one enjoying the free week of NBA League Pass!

I didn't even realize the Pacers played the Nets. I get their local broadcast. First time I've missed the nets opener in a while. I like the new jerseys for the pacers. One of the few teams that upgraded in my opinion. Not as good as the pinstriped one that debuted in 1997 though! DeAndre Bembry wears #95 for the Hawks. He is only player to wear the number in NBA history, and is in his second season.

I miss the pinstripes so much, but I do like these new ones a lot.

I think the fact that two big name players are done for the year in first game injuries, (Hayward, Jeremy Lin) and Chris Paul may be out a month from a first game injury, should put a stop to the people outright whining about the length of the season and the rest argument. You can't have more rest than an entire offseason and three major injuries occured in game #1.
Thoughts?

Well, I may not collect Hoops this year after all. I just noticed that Panini reduced the number of cards per box from 288 (24 packs x 12 cards per pack) to 192 (24 packs x 8 cards per pack), and the boxes still retail for about $100 CDN. So instead of one box leaving you about 30-40 cards short of a complete set, it is quite likely that even two boxes this year would still leave you about 30-40 cards short of a complete set. I'll see what hand-collated base sets are selling for on ebay and might get one that way, but I can't see myself trying to build a set this year.
