My dad is a Tigers fan, so he’s estatic.

I have a similar setup to V3 and will be transferring my Morris and Trammell cards to my HOF binder, but not until they are officially enshrined. They aren't HOFers yet.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Yeah, I know. But I geek out right away. And I’ve heard of no cases where a player’s status was revoked between the voting and enshrinement.
And I really needed a baseball card project.

Jimetal,
I was pleased to see that Willie Hernandez, while he did rank high at times, did not ever beat out either Trammell or Morris. But I hated Willie Hernandez. As far as I could see, his primary purpose in life was to come in for the Cubs and blow big leads so Lee Smith could come in and get the save. Then he went to Detroit and won a bloody Cy Young/MVP. Sheesh.

Not a criticism of your method. Maybe it came across that way.

So what your saying is that he is the root cause of the issues with Tigers bullpens over the last fews years. Yeah, he won something but before long the curse lingered again. I was only 10 at the time and focused solely on the Red Sox (oh the days before national cable...), but still remember the uproar over him winning those awards.

No, no. Didn’t take it as a criticism at all. I always feel slightly guilty updating within hours of the voting, to be honest. Just can’t help myself.

And Simmons only missed by one vote I just saw.

I'm happy for Simmons getting so close. He played in an era that just had way too many good catchers, but he deserves some attention. I'm also ok with him not getting in, because he would probably be considered one of the weakest catchers in the Hall if he did make it. If he makes the cut next time he's up for eligibility, I'd applaud the effort for sure.

Ironic that one of the most overrated players of the 80s and one of the most underrated players of the 80s go into the Hall together.
