In low population sets(not what was printed, but what is loaded to the database), why would someone say they have a particular card in their collection, but their are no examples shown?
The only thing I can figure is either they don't know how to upload the image, or they just said they have the card and they really don't.
Hard to figure it's just laziness, because they took the time to check off that the card was in their collection. I'd like to get at least a visual of some of these cards, if someone really owns them.
What do you guys think?

I think to call someone lazy for not uploading an image but checking the box is uncalled for. It is much easier to check a box than scan an image, sometimes crop the image and then upload the image. Sure, I love to see images of rare cards people might own (1/1, low serial numbered) but I do not blame anyone for not uploading an image. I understand people have lives, children and jobs so therefore don't have the time to upload a bunch of images to the database. Also, some people might just use the site to keep track of their collection rather than upload images.
This site and the people that use it are great. Please refrain from calling people on this site lazy just becuse they do not post an image that YOU want to view.

I’m guilty of not knowing how or taking the time to learn. When I first joined here I had a crappy and old all in one printer. I’ve since upgraded but have only scanned a couple of important docs. I’ve stuck to populating teams and pricing where needed.

Not everyone is a technical/computer guru.
Many don't even own scanners or the programs to modify (clip/size) pics.
Others just use the site as an easy way to organize their cards.
Members range from very OCD to just those who just add their cards now and then.

I can only speak for myself, but in my case it was really trying to deal with the somewhat overwhelming task of logging the collection first, and then go back and add scans later. Plus I don't really have a great scanner, but I'm of the opinion something is better than nothing. But it was my 2016 plan to finish logging and start scanning, and then my 2017 plan. And I'm continuing to fail. The end seems in sight, as I'm down to a few drawers in a cabinet rather than tubs full. So maybe 2018 holds promise? The good news is that the TCDB site makes it really convenient to get a list of what I have that doesn't have an image on the site already.
My apologies to anyone looking to see what one of my cards looks like.

I don't know the exact situation you are referring to, but I wouldn't jump straight to calling someone lazy. I've been working on scanning my collection and uploding the pictures to the database for over two years now, and I've still got a ways to go. My collection is not very large compared to many of the members here, so there are plenty of people with plenty of cards left to scan.
Also, tracking and organizing your collection in the database without contributing scans is not unacceptable.

I have a rather extensive collection. In baseball, I have all the Topps sets from 1973 to present, as well as about 35-40 various Donruss, Fleer, Score, Upper Deck and the respective brands. In hockey, I have approximately 100 sets of various years (ranging from 83-84 to 02-03). I have 9 binders full of Phillies cards from 1951 to present. We have a couple of player collections that have almost all the cards issued during their playing careers, except for some very low SNed items or rare regional items. Additionally, I have about 80,000 cards that are "available" for sale or trade that I have no inventory of.
As carthage44 mentioned, I have a full-time job, plus a wife and a son who is now in high school. As much time as I am on here, it's not a top priority. I have several cards already scanned, that need cropping and straightening, that need to be uploaded, as well as knowing I have several full sets that need my cards scanned. No matter what I have done to speed things up, I can only scan, fix so they are acceptable, and upload about 15 cards per hour on average. And that's busting it to make that happen. So for those 1,000+ cards I have that aren't uploaded yet, sorry.
Edit: I have added more than 5,300 scans as it is. That's over 350 hours worth of scanning work over the last 4 years or so.

I can't hook a scanner up to my cell phone or tablet. Thanks for your input though.

I'm going to reevaluate how I collect after the new year. It's just getting way too expensive for the new stuff. Sometimes I just want to buy a pack, not a whole box or even blaster.

Ditto on technical and life issues. I appreciate that so many have already scanned what's on the database. By the same token I've added a few of my own and would do more if I'd check more often. I usually assume that the cards I own are the more commonly owned ones and have been scanned, and that's about 95% accurate.
